January's voting contest has come to an end! Here's a quick recap on how our prize distribution system works:

• The top 3 monthly voters get in-game trophies on survival that they can cherish for years to come, along with a podium display in our hub for the remainder of the month
  
• Those with at least 200 votes will receive 7,500 rupies on survival.
• Those with at least 150 votes will receive 5,000 rupies on survival.
• Those with at least 100 votes will receive 2,500 rupies on survival.
• Those with at least 50 votes will receive 1,500 rupies on survival.

Please make sure to name your ships and stations. Do so in the ship interface, naming the antenna is not enough. Make sure the registered name is something other than Small Ship / Large Ship / Platform and a number. Especially if it's a prefab ship, please rename from the original name.

There apparently is a massive bug in the garbage collection and since we started up the worlds apparently ZERO garbage collection has occurred. All cargo ships and exploration ships have been disabled and I'm manually going through the world file and deleting them. We had something like 671 ships / platforms that existed on the server, a lot of them having velocity, a lot colliding with each other with spawned ships spawning inside one another. This is what has been killing the Sim speed on the server.

If I accidentally delete one of your ships I apologize. This is a massive undertaking to save the map. I am focused right now on the modded / hostile server. If people want I can do this same...

It's a brand new year, which is the perfect time to bring in some new maps!

Mining (status: Reset)
We've reset the mining world with a nice new seed and all of the 1.8 terrain generation features. Just as before, there are 9 different mining spawns, /warp mining[1-9], but this time the spawn regions only extend upwards. You won't be denied diamonds by WorldGuard regions ever again!
This really shouldn't need to be said, but don't dig massive pits around the spawns!

The Mining world has a square border 4096x4096, centered around [0,0], and uses Minecraft's built in world border so you aren't teleported around when you get close.

Nether (status: Reset)
There is also a fresh new nether to explore. There may not be any fancy new terrain generation, but it is a nice thing to have. Reach it by travelling through a nether portal in any world.

Two new items have been added to the vote shop (details can be seen below). I've noticed that the shop hasn't seen very much use, so I've altered the prices/durations of some of the old items to see how it changes things. I encourage you all to check out the changes in-game with the "/voteshop" command! I think you'll like what you see

  • Armor doesn't lose durability with use. Great for PvP!

General - Spigot 1.8 is here!
After a six hour push last night, spigot 1.8 is now running on Survival, Vanilla+, and the hub server. We still need to work on getting Creative up to speed.
No more quasi-1.8, all features are functional (including world gen)

New players can right click the sign in /warp pve to be teleported to a random location on the border of spawn! No more need to walk around though chunks you can't edit in!
