Server Needs a Revamp

I vote for world edit for builders

 

You would need to state a reason why, and also what you mean by it.

Just stating because it's useful is not enough, we hear that all the time.

 

idk if this is the right place or not.. but i think VIP should spread across all servers. if people are generous enough to donate for Shadecrest i don't think it matters what server they play on. they should get perks either way

Is there any reason the creative and survival voting can't be combined? I mean you access it through the same hub anyway. Could we change the banners on the voting/publicity pages to make it clear that Shadecrest has a variety of servers to suit whatever your preference be it survival (pvp or peaceful)/creative/vanilla/extra hard/ftb? The IP block on most sites prevents you from voting for survival and creative on the same day.

 

My take on both sides of that.

Argument for:
It would make voting more centralised, and boost votes for all servers simultaneously. So instead of us having multiple entries on each site, we would simply have the more elegant ShadeCrest community page.

Argument against:
It would reset the hundreds of votes for each server, because to combine would essentially make a new SC page on each of those sites. By my take, unless everyone picks up voting like the plague, then it would probably take weeks to regain the overall standing on other sites.

I'm all for it, don't take my longer argument against it as me opposing the idea. But if we do do this, then we'll need one person to monitor the voting sites and make sure the information is up to date.

 

I wonder if there is some way of transferring the voting credit to the new IP mc.shadecrest.com? I'm sure we can't be the first server to make this sort of transition.

 

Or you could just merge the creative page into the survival page and just rename it.

 

I didn't know if you could do that or not. I kinda just assumed it would work as creating a new page.

 

I mean I guess in theory the current votes attract people equally to survival and creative anyway because you have to access it through the hub, but if people are looking specifically for a creative server they would skip over Shadecrest if they thought it was strictly a survival server. I guess you'd need to look at the way the search works on the ranking sites to optimise Shadecrest's position in any search results filtering.
