Well, around 6 or so months ago I was in New Zealand. My dad was working in Christchurch for a scientific job of some sort. I, unfortunate, had to go to High School. The first day was incredibly scary. I started out as a year 10 (so I was basically a sophomore in their standards). Classes were insanely easy. Kiwi year 10 work is like 5th grade work over here. School was super lax. I made loads of friends since I was the "cool Californian". The school seemed very ghetto. Teachers cussed on a regular basis, fights happened literally every class. I slacked off quite a bit. Basically a 6 month vacation for me. I had roughly 4 home work assignments over a 6 month period o_o Anyway I think 3 or so kids died in that time period I was there. A couple staff did as well.. (<3). many many many kids got arrested during school... Returning to an American High school was interesting. Much better over in the states.

It's boring as hell and I hate everyone at my school. I enjoy learning, but the pace at which things are taught is slow as hell, even in my AP classes. It seems as if the school system tries to gear everything towards the least intelligent people, which is great for less intelligent people but is the reason the U.S. is so far behind in education things now. If people started to realize that a society which's main priority is to accommodate the least talented people then that society will not do well.

I don't do many extra-curricular because I generally hate everyone close to my age, and most extra-curricular activities group together people of certain ages. I have "friends", that being people who consider me their friends, but I would really rather not have to deal with any of them. I'd absolutely love high-school if not for the teens. I can't get along with people who's sense of humor is based solely on making everything seem sexual. Plus I live in the Bible-belt and a large portion of my class-mates can't learn anything without comparing it to the Bible and their religion.

But hey, at least it's not middle-school, where everyone was stupid and hostile. Now people are just stupid. :)
