Is It Ok to Break Down Natural Structures?

If you come across temples and other natural structures is it okay to break them down to recover materials or is that considered griefing?

 

As long as the area hasn't been inhabited/isn't in use by another player, then that's fine. Look for player made structures around the area.

 

Ok thanks. It looks pretty deserted. It's a remote jungle temple and I've been wanting some mossy cobble. Still haven't decided though because I like the temples. I might just buy the stone and leave the temple. Was thinking of integrating it into my overall build.

Thanks to the mcMMO plugin we use, you can make yourself some mossy cobble! Just hold a stack of wheat seeds in your hand and right click on a cobblestone block. With a certain chance (which increases with farming stuff) the cobble turns mossy. Also works on Stone Bricks.
