Feed the Beast Server Poll!

We also have a survival games server work in progress, really slow progress, but in progress
I don't really like the idea of splitting the community among more servers, it would bring in a load of players, but we would see even less on the main server if we get this.

 

Oh ok, then yeah that would be cool. I've seen lots of videos on youtube about it and I'm really excited to try it out, I was actually thinking recently about downloading the client.

You are oh so absolutely correct, sir. It would be unfortunate to see friends less often if one decides to play on a different server. But maybe we should keep it at a limit of servers, just 4; EHM survival, creative, FTB mod, and survival games.
But I also feel that it would be nice because it might bring more players onto one server, and possibly eventually going on multiple ShadeCrest Servers.

I just realized, there should probably be an application process. I have a feeling that a lot of people will apply and not know anything about IC or buildcraft.

It would be sorted out after there is a final decision to actually make the server...

well, i could start the server. it may take me some time to do it properly, but my computer specs are
- AMD FX 4170 4.2ghz quad-core
- 8 GB ram corsair
- 500 gb hdd (250+gb free)
- all sata 3.0 cables
- generic 10/100/1000 gb internet adapter

i have my computer on pretty much all the time, unless i go on a vacation or if i am away for more than 2 days.

How was the vip server originally run?

Yes, I probably do. So do you have them running from a host site? To be honest, I don't know much about servers or setting them up or how ShadeCrest's servers are running. So I am sorry for that.

By set it up, do you mean host it too? 'Cause if you want, I could get the folder set up for you, but I wouldn't be able to host it with this internet.

I'm running a small 7 slot FTB server. we're on here just messing around and trying the new features of the mods.

 

1:

• This mod pack, being in beta, there are some bugs of coarse.
• These bugs include buildcraft diamond pipe item duplication while placing the item in the grid.
• The NEI item menu has a few blocks that crash you if you click them.
• Quite a few items in that list as well, also don't show the recipe (Linked to Gregtech, which is an IC2 expansion)
• Gregtech makes the recipes for IC2 much more expensive.

2:

• Since buildcraft has been known in the past to cause world corruption, and local lag, we should monitor it carefully.
• I'm not saying remove buildcraft entirely because it's the only method we have at the moment of making an auto processing/ auto sorting machine. (Redpower isn't in the pack yet) We'll also have to watch for the duplication bug caused by diamond pipes.
• Disable nuke tnt
• Disable portions of the Gregtech expansion. What I mean by this is we should set the default recipes back to their normal recipes for IC2 but leave the Gregtech block's recipes the same.
• I'll add more if I can think of it.

3:

• As I have heard from Cncwarlord, the Tekkit man that he is. He said that we should get towny for FTB.
• Iconomy if we're going to get towny,

 

In addition, I've been paying attention to other feed the beast servers and apparently they use maps with a boosted amount of ores. This would definitely resolve the resource dependency problems.
