Ahh but why? Say you're on top of a mountain, and you have 100k rupies. If you fall off, why should you be charged MORE than someone next to you who fell, but they only had 1.5k rupies. Now, I don't know why two people fell off a mountain together, but you get my point.
Well my thought on that is, first of all, why are you in mountain jumping competitions to begin with? Secondly, you wouldn't want a respawn charge. If someone is flat broke they'll just go into the negatives, and potentially never recover (as a new player, this could cause them to quit the server). You can't impede the spawn function/feature/whatever of the game based on an outside mod, so you wouldn't be able to prevent spawning. Finally, someone with oodles of money should be running around in wealth-appropriate gear... The poor should have no armor to leather/iron, while the wealthy should don diamond gear respectively. Furthermore, everyone should have food at all times when adventuring. Tis not safe without it. Point being, the wealthier you are, the harder you SHOULD be to kill, simply because you have more access to the materials. Therefore, because you have the ABILITY to defend yourself more than your poorer counterpart, you should have the risk of losing more IF you don't defend yourself appropriately.
I meant re-spawning from getting killed by someone else -_- not dying in general, sorry for the confusion.
You have no different access to defenses past a relatively low point, though. Full armor is 24 diamonds, roughly 2000r. Food is cheap. weapons run maybe another 500. There's no effective difference in how hard it is to kill someone with 25k, 50k, 100k, or 200k. You're also making a heavy disincentive for wealthy people to live in, and therefore contribute to, PvP towns.
That's their loss then. Pvp is, in my opinion, a large part of Shadecrest. If you're not willing to put 1% of your value on the table in confidence of your own ability, then don't gamble. Although, I do see your point, I think it's simply a matter of not trying to run around like Rambo if you don't feel you can accomplish what you're trying to do. Bottom line: put the money on the table and roll the dice, or don't come to the pvp casino. There will always be the carebear casino on the other side of the wall.
Speaking of "admin abuse", whatever happened to the giant tdrh and I set free after you let it loose in the town we were planning, Blat?
I keep him in my basement as a... "slave". xD but seriously, I am for the money-taking, as long as it's for when you're killed by someone. I'm not sure about the percentage, I suppose it depends on what you're trying to accomplish. However, I also think it should be a bit more than 20, as anyone who is decently careful doesn't die very often, and 20r isn't very much money. Plus, if it's more, it will encourage people to actually use diamond things more instead of just hoarding them.
I just made it with the options of 15, 20, 25, 30, 50, 75, 1%, 1.5%, or 2%. Should anything else be added?
