just saying it is possible to make it underground just excavate the top 20 layers of dirt/stone then create the farm then put grass on top with some terraforming
Refreshing and Removing Houses Once a house is added to a village, a villager has to stay nearby to "refresh" it (range is the same as for adding houses: up to 16 blocks for both horizontal axes, and up to 4 blocks vertically). Otherwise, the house will be detached from the village after about 1 minute. If there are no other houses in the village, the village will be removed from the game as well. When refreshing a house, it doesn't matter if the house check fails. So when trying out house setups, make sure to destroy the door block after every change to force the game to check the door again. Since Minecraft 1.4, village data is stored in the savegame, meaning houses will not be rechecked after a restart. Walking out of range to unload their chunks will still reset them though. There is one exception: villages in the spawn area will not be reset this way because the area will always be loaded. Another thing I did, was destroy the dirt pillar that acts as the "roof," the thing that's making the doors into "houses." The game doesn't update this right away, and still sees it as a village, but if it ever does reload that chunk, it should evaluate it again and not see a village at all. There 2 sites of prof on my theory
Tech, theory and practice are two different things. in theory you are technically right, but in practice you are wrong
Half the people that play on vanilla are creative admins... if you cant make an iron golem farm look pretty then, well, maybe you shouldn't be a creative admin....
I have proven my theory true myself just now i covered all the transparent blocks with opaque grass and the iron farm was still running at its usual rate so once a valid door is created it will not have to reach sunlight again unless the chunk is reloaded
Two daily players on Vanilla (out of the >15 players that play daily) are Creative admins, and neither of them want a huge and loud farm near spawn. I guess there are 4 Creative admins that occasionally visit Vanilla. Out of the 117 people on whitelist.
oiShocKWavesv I think I am the only creative admin who has placed blocks apart from tnt on the server. People are kinda lazy in survival after having WE and voxel for years. Don't talk shit mate. I know multiple people have started iron farms outside of spawn. I also plan to do the same. I really just don't see the necessity for it, and I'm sure we can find a good use of the area instead. Looks like we will probably get the farm at this point, but I still think it is a lame idea.
Guess I'll post too, I don't think we need an iron farm at spawn cuzz then ppl will want other farms there and then it'll just be crowded with farms, now maybe we can have one that isn't right at spawn but out 20-30 blocks from spawn...just so it's not in the way of building a nicer spawn in the future follow the buzzards
there is a 10 chunk range around spawn called spawn chunks where the iron titan has to be, but the entire iron farm may be submerged underground I myself need the iron farm Now there is a design that can be created outside of spawn, but it requires more materials and complicated redstone.
any design that uses village chaining needs spawn chunks, so the titan, foundry, or trench just to reference tangotek's designs
here is where you are wrong again the iron towers is a village chainer that auto rebuilds itself therefore it can be anywhere on the map -The edit was unnecessary, Tech-
how exactly does that rebuild? all chains I know of break if reloaded because chains are not supposed to exist in normal MC. as soon as its reloaded, it forgets the chaining and becomes one massive village. the towers look like a system that just uses multiple villages just far enough away from eachother to be out of link range
TheTechGeek245 Y'know, videos make thinks easier to understand than text, but telling someone to watch a half hour video to demonstrate what you are talking about is a little annoying. Actually it's really annoying, so here, have useful time links! THEdeadRETURNED 7:16 and 9:49 should help answer your question. 1:01 - Claim of auto-rebuilding 2:53 - Village creation changes in 1.8 7:16 - High level explanation of village creation 9:49 - In depth explanation of process 16:31 - Intro to mechanics (expanded on in the tutorial, a 45 minute video :S) 20:07 - Watch for 15 seconds, then cry 20:53 - Math, notes, and charts that Daniel used to create this monster Now to the tutorial video! 2:07 - Actual tutorial start 3:58 - Water placement for golem trapping and item pushing 7:04 - Housing for redstone, start of door placement 10:53 - Redstone insanity starting...
