During the winter, not so long ago, all of Shadecrest was playing, out there in the snow. The snow came often, in it's respective biomes, covering trees, and brightening homes. But for reasons unknown, during the winter season, the snow made players happy, for no apparent reason! It was during this time that a new player connected. For on his last server he had been neglected. He looked about, and observed the folk. He saw them dancing around! "What strange blokes." The players name was short, unique, and hard to forget. His name was Kip, a name he got in a bet. He stayed for two years, and noticed each time, during the winter, Shadecrest was, er, extra fine! He sat on a rock, put a hand to his chin, when a great though had come to him. "Why, this is perfect, amazing," Kip had begun to say. "I should make my very own ShadeCrest holiday!" A few players overheard, and overheard quite keenly. "A winter holiday? HA!" And they laughed quite meanly. The last holidays on ShadeCrest were during the fall. With good ol' Thanksgiving being the last of them all. "Why's it so dumb?" Kip asked, with tears. "Because it can't be done! Not in a thousand years!" Kip stopped crying, now looking rather mad. " I can do it, and I will!" And he looked at what he had. He had trees, he had ribbons, he had gold, and lights to be lit. "No holiday has these things, but that's the point of 'Unique', isn't it?" Kip got to work, crafting things with gusto. He had to finish before the last of the snow! He worked all day, for weeks on end. While players laughed, even a few friends! It had been a long time, but kip was done. He looked at his work. "Let's have some fun." He got in a red sleigh, drawn my a horse, and rushed down the road, where people watched from doors. "What is he doing? The freak, the weirdo!" How Kip did what happened next, nobody will ever know. His sleigh began to fly, over all of their heads. It swooped over houses, where nobody was in bed. He landed on every roof, and down the chimney. He got back up, his face filled with glee. People rushed inside, to see what he had done. Only to find trees and gifts, some for everyone! They rushed outside, and looked up to the skies. Kip then shouted: "Merry Shademas, to all of you guys!" He flew into the distance, without another word. This tale is true, or so I've heard. Oh, and I nearly forgot. Under rem's tree was a box of sandals.... Or not.
Thanksgiving would only affect players in the US. Other countries would have Halloween, and Aus would have their winter as the last. :/
Most of our players are from US or Canada, and if we do a server event, it can affect players around the globe if they get on. This was written in reference to the server, not celebration IRL. It was just a clever little fictional poem to bring some holiday spirit to the server, getting caught up in what other holidays were referenced misses the point entirely.
