Well, I'm going into Secondary School 2nd year (secondary : murican high school and middle school combined, 2nd year = 8th grade.) All the classes I have: English Irish/Gaelic Maths these are the core mandatory subjects Geography Science - Bio, Chem, Phys Physical Education History CSPE - Civic Social Political Education SPHE - Safety Personal Health Education These, are the other mandatory subjects Technical Graphics Woodwork German French Religion Technology (metalwork mostly, with some wiring) Art Music Business Studies These are the modules, 1st years / 7th graders in Murica, need to take all of these. You narrow it down to 3 modules in 2nd year. I chose German, as European languages are a breeze for me, except French. I also chose Art and Music, as I enjoy being creative. In 4th year, we also get to take Latin, Japanese, Italian, and Hebrew as modules
Well, I went into a strictly Gaelic-Only speaking school, and most, if not all European languages are based off of Latin. Take the number 8, for example: Eight, ocht, octo, acht, etc.
Going into grade 12 this year yay! Haven't gotten my schedule as I don't start school for another 3 weeks. All I know is what I will be taking for the first semester; Ap Chem 30 Ap Math 30-1(I also have calculus, this is more of a generalization) Ap Science 30-1 Gym Business Management(An option) I have like 2 other classes but haven't found out that yet
I have been studying 13/14 subjects for 3 years now, bout to drop like 8 and focus on: English Maths History Psychology French Triple Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) Maybe Business Studies for GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education). Don't ask me what the American equivalent is, because there actually isn't one xD
We have Junior Cert instead of GCSE in Ireland, the class I'm in is actually going to be the last ones to do it.
If it's easier for you Americans, i'm about to go into 9th grade (whatever the feck that is) EDIT: (that being said, I found out I am in the same level of education as NMB, who is 2 years older than me) your system is too weird dude
Do you guys have anything similar to the SAT and/or the ACT? (Just google it if you don't know what it is) Just occurred to me that I know more about France's education system than all English speaking countries excluding USA combined.
