Are You Waiting Until 1.9 to Join a Town?

Now that I've accumulated a pile of rupies, I want to join a town. But I'm wondering, once the new 1.9 map appears, won't 80+% of the old and new players drift toward the new side of the map?

I'd hate to spend all my rupies joining a 1.8-side town only to have it suddenly de-populated.

Are you holding-off on joining a town now in anticipation of joining a town later on the 1.9 side?

If you already belong to a town, are you planning to leave it so you can help build a new town on the 1.9 side?

    good point Dolmen

at 35k to start a new town, not many will want to spend that and stick w/the town they've already established.

as far as building goes though.. there will be more valleys and mountains I'm sure with 1.9.. harder to build a city-like civilization.

harder, but you should see some of the work these kids have done on their current cities... there will be amazing cities... :) i for one am axcited to see the way people deal with these new things... it saddens me to think there are tons of amazing places i have not seen on the current maps even!

as far as the cost to start a town. if we were to ask people to move their towns, there would be some form of compensation. if they decided to move it, they could easily get the money... towns are expencive... you need to prove you want one by earning the cash... :)

Towny Data will be transferred over, along with the option to MOVE your town to the new side, that way towns shouldn't de-populate.

I have a nice town if you would like to join. Check us out; Violation Nation.
