Many of us on the server are either entering High School or leaving it. Just want to hear some stories or things your High School has (or had) to offer. Funny stories, sweet events? Anyway I will start: My High School has a block schedule, what that means is that it has 4 classes in one day, each class is around 1 hour and thirty minutes. We also a 1 hour lunch every other Wednesday! So we can either walk down to the local shops or drive to the nearest in-n-out burger. Every Wednesday that is not 1 hour lunch is a late start day, we essentially start at 9:30 so the classes are shorter. Since I have a free first period, I can basically drive to school at 10:15 or so! Another sweet thing we have is open campus. Typical High Schools only let seniors out at lunch... Well at mine, everyone can leave (including Freshies) either during lunch or if you have a free period (I have both o_o). My school is also a total surfer dude school since it has a view of the breaking waves of the Californian coast. Most of the seniors go surfing on hour lunch, seems like a gg way of spending some time. Freshman year was a bit awkward at my school... Maybe even more awkward than most other schools. Luckily, the awkwardness is over with. :I
high school sucked... everything about it sucked... slept through most of it... fudged my way through most classes... hated most of my peers... hated most of my teachers... skipped a lot of gym class... bs'd most essays in English class... cheated on most math tests... guessed on most science tests... read a lot of history, but was unimpressed with most history teachers... understood economics, but too young at the time to care... learned to type, unlearned cursive... hated sports, forced to witness pep rallies... fantasized about cheerleaders, dated nerds... graduated with the main class, yearned to graduate with prior class... generally suffered, mostly survived.
Here in Australia, Year 7-12 is high school, so technically I can post here (ahue). I'm in Year 7 this year and it's a massive jump from primary school, mainly the homework. We have extra curricular things and groups, I'm part of the school tennis team, so far it's been good, can someone tell me if years 8-12 are fun?
differentiate fun from happiness, and years 7-12 will be much less painful then they were for me <3 also, dirt boxes suck- (keralis)
Well high school was ok,had to live with my mom so it was hard on me cuzz she loved to race to see who got out to the car first, never worked,we argued most days to school,I'd leave the car with the last word...was mostly always late so always got punished for that but never got suspended cuzz of my special needs so Hs was just ok for me, I was just a loner, had 1-4 friends thats it Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
Well, I HATE school, so I'm not the best person to be saying this. But, year 8 is an easy year, all you really do is work and tests. Year 9 is hard. You have to get prepared for your gcse's and work extremely hard throughout the year and sometimes you even start your gcse's at the end of year 9. I've been in year 9 as long as you've been in year 7, and I'm already learning A* grades in a lot of subjects (maths, English, science, history) which is a lot of time and effort. The amount of homework you get will probably increase aswell, I do t know how much you get at the moment but I get 15 + per week. I'm expected to spend 45 minutes on each of them too.
1 to 4 friends? (lucky) loner for me = no friends, maybe a few loose acquaintances whom I ultimately dumped. I was late or absent a lot, but the school overlooked it because my grades were above average. No special needs, just a semi-intelligent monkey with moderate social skills and a penchant for divergent, anti-social paradigm provocation ad hominem.
I have 6 subjects each day and I get about an hour for each. I normally get 90% and over on tests and assessments, so I'm doing well so far.
also, bubblegum will never really be into you, so just try to enjoy your adventures with jake while you can
We played basket ball everyday for PE and there was this one kid who was a grade a prick. Typical bully. One day he hits me in the face with a basketball. The teacher sits him out and I got by and whisper "I'm going to your house and drag you out in the alley and beat you're arse if you do that again." Suddenly no more bully huh funny how that works. Other than that highschool was great back in 1994 lol
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Middle school is honestly some of the easiest years of high school. Just wait until your senior years (10-12). Although, that being said, I did fail my first subject in year 9 (Society and Environment). Also, I hail from SA so high school starts in year 8 for me. Hmmmm, funny stories. Well we could always go with my highschool love life. - First crush, religious girls, not interested. - Second crush (later to become first heartbreak), another religious girl, unable to date due to a tenant in her religion. Became good friends in the meantime (Still know her to this day), told her that I became friends with her and that group of friends because I had a crush on her. She later sends me a text saying she would have said yes if she could. Begin teenage angst. - Next 3 girls I fancied were all named Madeleine, go figure? Previous one was also named this; so 4 all up. Apparently I have a thing for the name. - Asked a girl out for the first time at a disco. - Got rejected by a girl for the first time at a disco. - Asked a girl out at 11:50 new years eve. - Got rejected by a girl at 11:51 new years eve. - Kinda gave up after that for a while. This was more of a vent for me than anything. Two of my best mates were of the more "charismatic" chaps in our year level and they had a few girlfriends during high school. So to my developing social outlooks (I never learnt proper social skills until about year 9), I was abnormal in this aspect. This kinda contributed to some self-esteem issues and such. Now I just don't care. (Before any of you ask, I have been on a single date since then earlier this year. It went well and she now has a boyfriend. Who unfortunately isn't me)
I'm only in my first year of jr high (7th grade) but you guys are really making me scared for the upcoming years of school
