Have you backed up your computer recently? If no, back it up now. If yes, you are lying, back it up now. Put the backup on an external drive, save important files on a flash drive, and hide it away in cloud servers. This might sound paranoid, but I just spent the last 6 hours furiously trying to recover from odd one-off problems that culminated in me only having access to a text login. Now how the heck did I end up in such a place? 1: Hard drive had bad data in some setting somewhere 2: Backup external drive failed 3: Emergency boot usb failed 4: My "Oh Jesus Christ, why do I have to use this" emergency boot usb sort of worked, but no internet 5: Emergency laptop had no internet access It's mostly fixed now, but I still can't enable bluetooth. The toggle ends up switching wifi on and off (I don't even...). So, make sure you have about twice as many backups as you think you will need. And then multiply them by five. Also, don't run Linux unless you KNOW you can get your hands dirty in a text only interface to fix stuff. Or just run stable builds of stuff, that works too... *whistles*
What? How much of a difference is norton compared to other anti virus programs? I've always used norton. Never gotten a virus since.
