Hi, I am a 23 year old university student looking to get back into multiplaying in Minecraft! Shadecrest appears to be a very complex server and I look forward to being whitelisted so I can jump in. I love the idea of an economic system as well as towns, however, upon looking to join some I notice there are daily taxes and so forth. I think it would be best to try and rough it on my own to rack up enough rupies to contibute comfortably to a town, but I had a couple of questions: 1.) Beyond the 100 block distance, are there any land claims I need to declare formally or is it just simply a matter of respecting one another's property (in the peaceful zones, of course). and also, 2) If I do create a structure, at this point a type of apartment complex/hotel, am I required to pay rupies for property taxes? Thanks, I look forward to building and if any like-minded gamer wants to chat I'm rather outgoing. -Lobo
First, upon your acceptance, welcome to ShadeCrest! We always welcome new players and you seem intelligent and mature, a plus. Outside of a town, there are no taxes of any kind. Besides being over 100 blocks from spawn and towns, just make sure you arent building on top of someones pre-existing structure. Aside from that, build where you like. My recommendation to allnew players is spend a day or two mining resources to sell and make enough rupies to comfortably buy a plot and pay taxes for a little while. Towns ARE an excellent way to go, as you get protections on your property and join a community. Once again, Welcome to ShadeCrest. Enjoy. And if you do end up looking for a nice town on the peaceful side, Forgotten Cliff is a remarkably scenic town with good builders, mature residents and run by two MODs. /tell myself or Padaun in game for an invite to town, or a tour around Hope to see you soon on the server
