Ban Appeal Metal__man

Apparently I was kicked from the server (it does not say "banned") for advertising. What was overheard was a private discussion with another player, and perhaps taken out of context. Yes, I did mention the name of a server I frequent. (It would be foolish to assume players do not frequent more than one server just as it would be to expect someone to eat at only one restaurant). What may not have been overheard was my dissatisfaction with this other place and how pleasantly surprised I was at such wonderful things Shadecrest had to offer. The amount of talent here is incredible. If I was caught mentioning the name of the other place, then I am guilty, but I am not guilty of advertising for them. In truth, I am unhappy with them at the moment! I hope to be allowed back on this server. I've been working hard on a project that is unfinished; I would appreciate the opportunity to finish this and earn your respect as a contributor to Shadecrest.

 

A kick is just a warning. You are able to log into the server right away after a kick.

Honestly it's almost just a reaction to kick a player when you see an IP in chat to give the player a clear warning to not advertise. We really don't care if you mention other servers to your friends in private chat as private chat is none of our business. You are only at risk of a ban if you either blatantly advertise in chat, or if spam random people in tells with another server IP. When you mistakenly say an IP in chat, you just get warned with either a slap or a kick.

This was obviously just a mistake. You should be able to get on the server without issue. Just be more careful with tells to avoid confusion in the future.

It turns out you were actually banned. When you log in, is there a name in parentheses at the end of the message? If so, that is the admin who banned you and likewise the one to talk to about getting unbanned.
