2: Unless we don't see you fit at all your name will be added to this post. The list may be changed, and most likely will be before the official elections.
3: Starting Oct. 22st players will be able to vote for who they want to be next moderators. We will have a poll until Nov. 4th. Looking at the results the top 5-3 applicants will be promoted unless any recent events change our view of how they will be as mods.


Rules about 'campaigning':


1) You cannot buy votes, or use any position of power to entice people to vote. This includes giving them rewards for promising votes, threatening anyone who doesn't vote for you, rewarding people for voting for someone else (in case you're not running), using towny or nation ties to sway voters, or anything that may be deemed unfair.
2) There will be no 'spoils' system, where people who help a campaign are rewarded.
3) Creating negative campaigns about an opponent isn't allowed.
4) Players should vote for who they think would be the BEST mod, and the best player to represent the server. I have friends on the server who I'd like to be mod, but I wouldn't vote for them because they aren't the best fit for it. If you vote for a friend, or someone who bought your vote, and they abuse their powers, it's your fault. Everyone will live with their choices, so it's up to them to make the best choice.
5) If you are doing something that isn't listed in the rules above, but is shady or you wouldn't do it with me standing invisibly beside you, don't do it. Failure to follow these rules may result in your disqualification as a mod applicant.

If you guys need more rules, I can think of more ways to abuse the system and then make rules against it. But pretty much a popular vote is a gift, applicants, don't try to abuse it, it's better to lose with dignity than to win by cheating; and voters, choose who deserves to be a mod, don't sell your vote off for a couple rupees or the favor of a town assistant.

I know pretty much every rule by heart. I've been on this server the longest out of all non-staff active members. I help out guests and yellow names every day. I'm very strict with chat rules, and I tell people commands whenever they forget or never learned them. I'm fair, and will always make sure everyone gets fair treatment from each other and from me. I'm EXTREMELY active, rivaling activity from any admin (probably not ops) and significantly more than the MODs.

Are you active on the server?I am usually a very active member of the server, but people may have noticed a lack of activity in the past two months. I have had high school and cross country practice every week day. On the weekends, i have had cross country meets. However, cross country is ending very soon, and I have learned how to deal with the workload. In the months to come, I will most definitely be seen more on the server.

Are you active on the forum?If by active you mean posting a lot, no. I have posted maybe two things since making a forum account. However, I am a very active reader of the forums. I read them just about every day, but I have never felt a need to post or comment on anything. Please understand that if i were elected MOD, I would post much more often, as I would have a good reason to add my opinion.

How often are you online, and is there any time in the foreseeable future that you will be gone for a week or more?I am generally on about two nights a week. I explained above as to why I am on so little. Based off of last year, I will probably be on for about four weeknights and most of Saturday.

What sets you apart? Why should you be picked?Unlike a few of the applicants, I remain respectful and mature, even on the internet. I also try my best to take a non-biased stand on most issues. One of my pet peeves is when someone forms an opinion without basing it on fact. It infuriates me even more when they blatantly ignore facts when confronted. Please don't misunderstand me, I will fully accept a legitimate and well thought-out argument. In fact, I prefer that someone defend him or herself if they think they are right. Another problem I would like to address is patience. Too many times I will see a MOD or admin either overreact, or react too quickly to something. Tying back in to my previous argument, I have seen players get banned without a chance to defend themselves. The severity of a few of the punishments has also surprised me. I believe that if players were allowed to explain themselves, we would not have to deal with changing unfair bans or punishments, resulting in less work for the server staff. To summarize, I wish to be elected MOD because I feel that I could help the server run more efficiently by listening to the accused player and making a judgement based on both their defense and fact. I thank you for reading this rather long post, and I hope to see others apply with the same point of view.

How often are you online, and is there any time in the foreseeable future that you will be gone for a week or more? I would be on more, but Homework/projects/Garry's Mod have gotten in the way In April for about 5 days, and in June for about a week or so, then this Christmas for 1 week.

What sets you apart? Why should you be picked? I have quite a bit of experience on being a mod, not necessarily or exclusively good experience though. My biggest problem was patience, but I've really gotten over most of my impatience, and will really just take whatever comes. As a mod previously, I think I did well enough, as I was in that position for the better part of a year, with, I'm pretty sure, few complaints. I'd like to take another shot at it, and see what else I can contribute to the server.

Have you ever been banned from this server? If so, explain. There was one major ban pertaining to the server LiquidxStone, xGambitx, and their friend Katherinespair was from. On this server a group of us from shadecrest, Myself, Darknoodle, Macbad, Yardweasel, North_Korean, Millz14, and a few others made a town called ShadeCrest, and goofed around. Long story short, lots of misbehaving, badmouthing, and X-raying went on. The server admin, or his girlfriend contacted Max, and it resulted in us all getting a ban. We all had the option of posting a reply on the forum to explain our involvement in the situation, then we were let back on with a warning. I myself was hardly on that server, nor did I involve myself in the actions of my fellow Shade Crest players.

The major thing that sets me as an individual apart is my persistence. I constantly like to stay updated on things that are going on, Shade Crest, the forums, or minecraft in general. When I was a Moderator, I would always check the applications, and offer helpful information to people trying to apply. I even got ahead of most of the staff in accepting new players, though this isn't a competition. As for why I should be picked, well, I feel as though I wasn't given a chance to prove my worth to the community.​

I can be a very nice person, helping new players getting to know the server better or even old players who have questions about minecraft or the server. When needed I will enforce rules and make sure they are not broken. This being said I can be very fun and helpful. When it needs to be done I will get down to business and make sure that the server stays fun, everyone stays happy and plays fair, and that no one breaking these rules will get away with it. I actually try to tell guests to not break rules even when I don't have any real power or authority to do so. I usually do anything (in this case, apps) assigned to me in a timely manner. Also, I happen to have 4 brothers, so I have experience on how to deal with immature guests and members in a calm and not-so-dramatic way. I also have a good sense of humor since I can entertain everyone with quirkiness as seen with my constant trolling with members on the server. I believe my quirkiness, self-motivation, and experience can make me a good mod.

I have only been banned once from Pad just trolling.

I am 14, but I'm an A caddy at my local golf course, and I feel that I am mature enough. I'm also a freshman in high school.

I have been a moderator on Shadecrest before, so I have experience of being one.

I was active for a long time, took a break for a while, and now I'm trying to become active again.

How often are you online, and is there any time in the foreseeable future that you will be gone for a week or more?
I am usually on 2-3 hours a day and more on weekends.

What sets you apart? Why should you be picked?
What sets me apart from other players is that I am patient with players, and know pretty much all the rules by heart. I've been playing on the server for almost a year so I have a relationship with a lot of players and am sort of well known. I know all commands for moderator well and know what to do in many different situations. I have perseverance and can stick to one problem, get it done, then move to the next one. I also am always set on welcoming guests and trying to help them to have them join and stay with the server and maybe join the community.

 

This is completely ridiculous. I'm on survival for a good half an hour with about 4-5 candidates, and i see absolutely no assistance to the guest that join the server, or any enforcement to the chat rules or just general rules to the guest or regular members. The purpose of the moderator position is to HELP the guest and other members and enforce these rules, not to sit on your butts and randomly slap people. Don't expect that you can get this position by just sitting around and expecting it to come to you this easily.
