Regarding the Prevalent Use of Hacked/Modded Clients

Well, this is an unfortunate topic to discuss, but sadly I've seen a major increase in cheating and rulebreaking, and it's going to come to a stop now. I've discussed this with many admins, and they agree that using hacked clients/modded clients should be dealt with more severely than any other type of rulebreaking. So over the past few weeks, Manglor and I have been compiling a list of people using these clients, as some may have noticed random 'spot checks' have been put in place. Tomorrow, we will take the list and evidence we've compiled, and ban everyone who's used modded/hacked clients. This is in the rules, and obviously bad on any server, so there will be no sympathy for cheaters, with one exception. If you PM me within 24 hours, confess to using the clients, and give us some backstory, then we'll go from there. While this doesn't guarantee your safety, it puts you in a much better position than waiting and seeing if we've found you too.
If the period passes, and neither of us receive any PM's, everyone listed will be banned, with possibility of an IP ban as well. I do this with a heavy heart, as friends and valued community members are on the list, but the rules are the rules. And if the 24 hours passes and you aren't banned, yet you use clients, that doesn't mean that you're so sneaky we couldn't catch you. Manglor and I are attempting to make each person's case so airtight that there's no way we ban an innocent person. My only advice for those who have already chosen to break these rules is to PM me or him immediately. There's nothing we can do for you if you don't. As we've shown other players, a confession is not always a permaban, and it's much better to find out from the player himself than to have to charge him with cheating. If you don't waste our time, we'll show appreciation for that.

Also: This is your one chance to appeal. If you're banned for hacking/using modded clients, appeals will be useless. Unless you PM me and we talk, you're in a bind. And listen, it would be a terrible idea to not PM me or mang just based off of embarrassment. Don't miss this opportunity.

It would be helpful if there would be also list of allowed mods on the post and that spoutcraft isn't worth reporting. That is at least what I have answered to people asking me if they are dead now for using Spoutcraft or Zan's minimap.

I Rei's Mini Map Allowed?

 

Yes, as long as it isn't modified to show players, and doesn't show slime chunks.

 

Good thing I have no idea what that is I was getting nervous thinking that using Reis Mini map was hacking

sawman14, theartofbalance, due_date, dureja_av, and kscar were banned, and their chests removed.
We still have evidence on/suspect other players, but as of right now it's not enough to go ban them with.
Also, cjb's modpack is illegal on this server. We were very close to banning 3 players who used it, and are giving them one final warning. As for the players who use nodus/cjb, and were not banned, consider this your one opportunity to clean up. Chances are we're already watching you, show us that there's nothing to find.

 

What is CJB? Is it a hacked client or a normal hack/mod?

 

Its a mod that has a few legitimate uses, but you can turn on brightness mods for mining and see other players on your minimap.

i cant believe there is a mod that show other players, sounds really tricky.
i'm scared for what will happen when leave for a month, but i will have my compuer most likey.

 

To my knowledge, the only one hacking/ modding was sawman. Wait, am I even banned? I never used anything. Not even spoutcraft. I am on vacation and I'm on my moms IPhone for Internet so I can't go on mc. I feel bad for Griffs and Alan because of how scared they were for on the talk of getting banned. They didn't do anything. Same with soccer and Mage.

 

Is there an updated list of whO all has been banned?

Soccer informed me that he, I, Griffs, mage, and Alan were all banned. I am 100 % sure soccer didnt and Mage , Alan and Griffs are probably my three best friends on the server. They told me things non of you Admins ever heard about and they never used mods or whatever you guys are talking about. I'm also with Soccer half the time and he never did this "hacking". Am I banned?

 

If soccer told you that, I would stop trusting him.
