More Events??

Bottom line, ShadeCrest is slowly getting more boring. The events have, personally, been a HUGE part in staying on ShadeCrest because they are so fun!! Not because of the prizes just the games are fun to participate in!

Here's my idea. We have more events, the number I'll leave for you to decide. We could have them every other day for example. Each event would be run by a certain admin. For example:

Monday- max
Wednesday- nifix
Friday- Hizeron
Saturday- Manglor

To keep the server from overflowing with OP prizes we could only have Friday's events contain prizes and after that have the Chest Auctions. Then on Saturday Mang could run the PvP events if he fells up to do so.

This would make ShadeCrest so much more fun and could bring in more players at a rate that's a lot, lol.

Please consider this and feel free to make any changes necessary to fit the staff's schedule or liking.

 

Mobarena. It was sooooo fun back then, and, unfortunately, we had to get rid of it due to the usual abuse of glitches. But now, I'm pretty sure they've been fixed, and it's one of the most fun plugins eveeeer

 

Yeah and maybe making Monstamash an official area with improvements and maybe spawner now that the plugin that make mobs spawn closer is off.

Also maybe like a scavenger hunt thing? Every sunday/saturday a staff member could hide chests in a predetermined area like the coliseum, these chests could have anything from diamonds to dirt in them. Not a lot of chests (maybe 10?) and not crazy prizes would make it fun but not too overpowering. we would have the whole week to find these chests and there could be a thread on the contests section giving a new hint each day. Maybe to make it even harder the area would only be open for a certain amount of time a day 12-3 for example. that way people don't spend all day looking for chests and find them all within a day.

Just another idea, I think that one would be really fun and easy to do as it only required admins one day of the week and it could be on a weekend that way someone would be on that has time.

 

Who cares about prizes? It's fun either way!

Idk what you all think, but an organised raid like last night* would be cool, and even cooler if the defenders got like 3 diamond blocks each when it was over! Just a thought.

*I wasn't there last night, so i'm assumeing that this happened xD

 

Me and my friend Red_death_ninja LOVED Mobarena It was the best thing ever, when we had mob arena there was atleast 30 people on. I think we should add it back. I dont think anyone really cared about the prizes, they weren't even that great of prizes. Please add Mob Arena back.

 

I can start doing that to help out.

 

There's a "bleeding" build that works with 1.2.3.

You die at the end regardless, so no.

 

I also think that adding more events would be fun. But in the other hand it would take away from the fun of them as well. Keeping them to a weekend thing gives people somthing to look forward to. 1/2 the fun in the games is the amount of players and I would hate to see attendance drop because they are such a common thing. Just my 2 cents.

 

i think the events are fun, but agree with liquid if we hold them each or every other day, it takes away from it. and max is way right, ALL of the kids i know, and go to school with get to good servers by looking at the votes, thats how i got here ;D i vote as commonly as it lets me. i think that with all the hunger mania, we should really amp up the hunger games, and when its set in stone have as many members as possible blare it across the forums of planetminecraft etc..

also, during the events, we should try to take pictures *even if staged* of a boat load of players having fun! that makes people want to join so much. overall i think if we use current events and vote, we will get a lot of new players! ;D

 

I'll definitely become more active in PVP, especially with group raids (now that we have parties, and that arcadia got me nice and angry last night )
And I might host some games, more of the PVP ones that Manglor and I planned but didn't have time/space for. That is, if people are interested.

Some other events we could do

1.) Find the chest. Place a giant dirt block, 25*25*25 lets say. Place a chest in it randomly. Dig for the chest, winner gets the prize.
2.) Have a race. This would involve obstacles, traps, puzzles.
3.) have a build off. Get people to build something based off a certain topic, Boat, castle ect. Get a few people to judge it and decide the winner.
4.) Hunger Games! We place people on a deserted island with some resources. They fight to the death.
5.) Maze. Start off at BedRock and have a maze to the surface.

 

Those all sound like so much fun!
