poll: leave town renaming in the mayor/assistants hands, or the admins

whatever wins I'll stand behind because it's the publics opinion

(by thought, "I wonder if there is any way to check who has voted")

There's no way to check who voted, this has already failed in terms of vote security.

Secondly,

 

We can just have each person who votes/has voted make a comment that they have done so. I voted that it should stay the same.

On another note, nray, he didn't even refer to his "political-based" opinions on this thread, he merely asked for an opinion by means of a poll. It really has nothing to do with his statements from the other post. I think we needed a poll anyway, the other post was just a continuous, redundant argument.

admins only. if you have a good reason, and idea to change it the admins will. i have no idea why people always rebel against the admins when lately, they are extremely reliable and trustworthy.

 

I say change it in game as much as your heart desires, but you get one forum name, and only one.

anyway, if the two bottom votes outbeat the top vote, the one of the bottom vote with the most out of the two will win, does that make any sense?

does it matter? You said yourself this vote is only to gauge public opinion. It doesn't matter which option 'wins', max has already said what his decision was, and that's final.

Yep. I decided that it wasn't worth keeping up with. Before it was Hermit Hideout, too.

 

When you make a town you need to have a plan of what you want. You can't just wing it. Think of a name, then keep it. How often do you hear about towns names being changed in the real world? You don't. And since Towny is a plugin designed to make MC more realistic we shouldn't be allowed to change names either. The only reason I could see for a name change would be if the name was inappropriate, but that's it. Leave it to the admins, they know what's best.

 

I am the mayor of Kaizen, I want it to be my town, not someone else's town whom I've bought. So I tore down all the buildings and renamed it.
And this isn't real life, this is minecraft, this is a video game, realism isn't the best thing in video games.

i just have to interject: most of those town names were changed because they were native american names, had weird or just plain dumb names, or were from another country like kingston is the capitol of jamaica. now a days, they dont change much.

 

who cares, minecraft isn't based on present times, as a matter of fact (with not even having muskets) it is based around 1500's with a few exeptions of pistons and redstone.

Anyway I'm locking this poll, it will represent the players opion on this subject
