After going on the Minecraft Wiki, I saw that there were many Technical Blocks (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Technical_blocks), and that many were probably not in the Admin Shop, otherwise people would actually have these kinds of items. One thing I've noticed is that after about a week of the introduction of the new Admin Shop, almost the whole server knows where it is. After that, the Admin Shop loses all of its hype. However, let's say there were another chests, hidden in the Admin Shop itself. This should be extremely hard to get into, almost impossible, but for the people that find this chest, they would be able to buy items that would strike awe to the other commoners of Shade Crest. Such items could include: 1. The broken black disc (11) 2. End portal frames (for decoration w/ Eye of Ender) 3. Portal blocks (for decoration like in trentr6436's outpost warp.) 4. Stationary water/lava (for utility purposes.) and the list goes on. I understand that this idea won't be possible for the spawn we currently have, as it would be a HUGE hassle for the architects and builders that took days upon days building the spawn building (I'm positive cerburus wouldn't like it xD), but I believe that this could be a cool feature and useful implementation for the next time a new spawn is built. Of course, there are limitations, and it would be extremely hard to actually accomplish building something like this, but I thought it was a decent idea, and something that the people of Shade Crest might like. Please leave suggestions/feedback as well -dureja_av
But I like being the only one on the server (hopefully ) that has water blocks (stationary water, I robbed Dynodamon)
How about having an admin shop that has everything, but has limited access. Like if you win an event, you get a token or whatever that gives you a one time entry into the admin shop? Or better yet: you could set up a couple of dozen obsidian monoliths scattered throughout the worlds in obscure places that have a sign with a number (sequence) and a letter. When all of the monoliths are visited, they can put the letters in order by their numbered sequence and it gives a password to open the admin shop's door. That way it is like a quest, where the people who take the time to locate and travel to these monoliths can gain access to them.
I absolutely LOVE the idea of making it a quest. However, I don't think it should be announced server-wide. I think people should just randomly find these things and finally have to collaborate all of them. The only problem I sense is that this may be extremely difficult for admins or architects to be able to build this. As much as I love the idea, it may be too hard to actually execute.
Well, my next project is a giant labyrinth with traps and puzzles to solve, and the idea of the monoliths was for the password for the maze. Only problem is, I cant constantly stock the end of the adventure with treasure to draw people in. If the staff were to see my final project, and agree that it is worthy of housing the admin shop at the end of the adventure, perhaps that could serve as the incentive for people to search out the monoliths, decipher the entrance's password, and brave the trap laden maze. It would have to be epic, I'm sure, in order to be found worthy. But we will see what the staff thinks of this.
Although, from an organizational standpoint, that does sound rather difficult, it seems really cool at the same time ;D If we could figure out how to get this planned-out, and you'd be willing to dedicate a large majority of your playing time to it, then I'm in. We would, of course, need to get his discussed further.
Little to no organizational coordination necessary. I will simply go on with my project as planned, leaving the final room simply empty. After completion, staff will be asked to try the adventure and/or labyrinth prior to opening it. If they find that it is indeed satisfactory, they may proceed by putting the admin shop in the final "treasure" room. The project will consist of the maze, built like a giant keep where you start at ground floor and work your way upward. In order to gain access, there will be a password protected door, where clues to the password is found in each of the monoliths. There will be puzzles and quiz questions based on the server rules. The right answer can open the way, where the wrong answer will certainly be your doom, or at best set you back by dropping you back down levels. Alternately, some puzzles will make the next stage easier if you answered correctly. There will be one monolith for each biome, along with one in the nether, one in the end, and one in a large city which is to be determined (if the staff so wishes, we could even put one in the spawn or any other area that you wish to draw traffic to). Even if we do not use it for the admin shop, it will certainly bring a new level of adventure for all who meet the challenge. I would have to get permission to have protection for the entire structure to prevent griefed entry. Also, the monoliths would each have to be given protection to prevent tampering with the cipher clues. I cannot afford to purchase these protections so the server will have to agree ahead of time that they are willing to cover this, assuming they approve the project. This project, like the Monstamash is going to be donated to the server to enrich the playing environment for all. I estimate no less than a month to complete said project once it goes to construction phase. I am concurrently in both the material acquisition phase and planning phase. Also, if anyone is wanting to help, and you have Teamspeak, please feel free to message me. Someone really good at redstone would be invaluable, as I am ok with it, but certainly not great with it.
I think it'd be great for something like this to happen, but I think it would be much more fun if people didn't know of this project. This specific post has been viewed over 200 times, so I imagine that many people that are playing on the server are now aware that something big like this may happen. If it were to be done in a month, many players would know that you have to look for monoliths all over the server. In my opinion, a player should just be walking along and then randomly find a suspicious-looking structure that would spark a bit of interest. This would bring much more fun to Shade Crest, as the people would have confusion and would start gaining notice of these oddities around the server. People would want to learn more and maybe delve further into these clues. Again, it is my opinion, but I think it would be much more interesting to see this culminate on the server over time rather than the one-week phase of finding these monoliths. The reason I suggested this was so the players that actually take their time to inspect areas or that one lucky person could have an incentive for finding something even cooler. With the regular Admin Shop, there is usually a bunch of hype for the first few days of its opening, and after a while, it loses its magic. However, with something like this, it would be cool for a VERY small amount of people to be aware of another mystery. With over 200 people seeing this post, people would have their eyes peeled for odd looking structures throughout the server, but with a quiet opening, many people would be puzzled at these random monoliths in the middle of nowhere. My overall point is that this would be something awesome for the server to have, but it can only work and be special if there aren't hundreds of people aware of something like this.
its probably only 20 people 10 times XD maybe hide the riddle's answer in various towns and ruins of old towns?
