A few new rule changes.

    we had a spawner for my town, then wkd removed it, it was the best way for us to get arrows, one week after the rule changes.

    Stupid request, can we get it back? (/home toxic_pancake it was inside the room) we'll remove the cage (i believe its a cage) thats around it

    I do MCEdit, you can change them, but a mob spawner spawned into the game using commands spawns piggehs <3

    Example of a legal spawner. Notice how the room is CLEAR of any modifications/water traps/funnels. This is how spawners should be set up.

    I didn't know you had to mcedit it to get it since inside the creative spoutcraft there is a spawner (which i guess it a pig spawner)

    thats why i said it was a stupid question.

    I'm still slightly confused on the new spawner rules. What is classified as a cage?--Surrounding the spawner with walls? Because if that's the case, then the above spawner shown by nray would be illegal. Also, must we stay inside the spawning room (or area) as the monsters are actively spawning, or can we leave them to spawn freely while we're outside of the room (room if the first question's answer was false, that is) and then go in and brutally massacre them? And must we be in direct line of sight with the monsters while fighting them, or can we, say, make a platform above or a corner to hide behind as they walk toward you? (Not modifying the spawning conditions or atmosphere for the mobs, only making it a bit easier on yourself).

    sooo... much... grey... area.
    A spawner with walls is not a cage. -.- a cage would be a set of walls that seperates you and the mobs, thus protecting you while killing them.
    And secondly, you can leave the room as it lends you no advantage other than healing (which you can do in aboveground combat, too.
    Finally, don't add any corners/platforms. just a simple room with a doorway to get in/out. Any modifications that make it easier are illegal.

    When in doubt, follow my example. a clear, 8x8 room with nothing around the spawner.
    And (to everyone) if it's found that you've created a grey area (like ndvenckus is so apt at) you will be banned.

    No, no. it's good to look around corners. But the rule will stand that anything that gives you an advantage over mobs will result in either removal of the spawner, or worse.

    I read alan's modreq for us. I destroyed it. Which is what happens to all spawners used incorrectly, people.
