Because of nether wart farming and other additions to the nether in 1.0, perhaps this server should have both a permanent nether world, and then a farming one. Much like how we have a main world and a mining world. Also, as a side note, can we use potions in PvP? (2 shot kills :3)
I have messed with potions and the requirements on nether wart farming; you do not need much. once you get a large farm of it you harvest more than you will ever need, so we will probably just keep doing what we are doing with the nether. As for using potions in pvp, I don't know how they will affect the game play just yet. we will probably let potions be used in pvp unless some of them become a problem. At that time we may place restrictions on the problematic potions, but no telling what those restrictions will be just yet.
I personally think all potions should be allowed in pvp. Its a game change, why restrict it at all? There are bad ones you throw and good ones that can heal you instantly. It will add some depth and longevity to pvp and all you kids are smart enough to adapt
Actually you cant. The range on throwing the potions is extremely limited. They dont even fly a tenth as far as eggs or snowballs. Even if you aim up at a 45 degree angle (which is the best distance you can get when throwing something, little physics fact for ya ) It only goes about 15-18 blocks away
I am extremely excited for potions, but still a little worried over how they will turn out (mostly for PvP). Now, we just need Bukkit to hurry up and update!
^^I agree. But if everybody else complains about a certain potion... I don't know. I just hope everybody else will not complain about the way potions change the game play, and just use the potions and enjoy them.
yea . I look forward to people trying to heal comrades while not healing enemies trying to damage enemies while not damaging comrades... chaos shall now ensue
In any pvp fight you are supposed to keep the fight as fair and balanced as possible. "quote from the rules: Be reasonable with other players and towns. If you see that there is only 1 person on from a town, don’t go with 5 players to attack, that’s not fair. Please try to keep things as fair as possible." the problem is that some players go and get as close as possible to breaking this rule without actually breaking it... effectively creating "grey areas." In short, no; teaming up against somebody unfairly is exactly that; unfair. 2 vs 1 in coliseum is not fair. 2 vs 2 in coliseum is fair. So it will be possible to accidently heal the enemy as well as your comrade. so be careful where you throw those potions
