I was wondering if we could host a vanilla server for shade crest. I like to play minecraft sometimes with no mods on, but don't want to stray from the shade crest community. I would like it to be without any mods, but some may be needed to protect the server :-\. If we did this, it would also allow people to play the new minecraft 1.0.0 while they wait for our server mods to update If this is not possible then let me know, thanks. ps. for those who don't know, vanilla is a term meaning there are no mods installed, just strait up minecraft.
If there were no Plugins like W.G or H.E then Shadecrest would be an easy target to grief. And everybody would be able to build because there would be no Permissions plugin, so there would only be OP's and everybody else. I don't think Shadecrest will ever go Vanilla, sorry
Oh, well that would still be an easy target to grief Also, it would lag Shadecrest if it's hosted from the same dedicated computer. I don't think it would be a good idea.
Yes I am talking about something like the zombie server, and I agree that if it will lag down shadecrest's main worlds then it should not be created. I just want to know "from somebody who knows" if we can look into it; and if people would play it if we ended up getting it. ok. I am on teamspeak as I am typing this and I was just informed that several people have talked about this before and that is may be implemented? I am not sure :-\" Also, if I had to choose between a vanilla server and the zombie survivor server I would choose vanilla. is anybody on the zombie server any more?
I really like this idea! A vanilla server would be great. And yeah, as hiz said, who is even on zombie server anymore? It isn't even working for me lol. If I could trade zombie for vanilla great deal! -Zeal
That explains the zombie server. I have mixed feelings on making the vanilla server only for VIP members, but I will be fine with it because I already planed to donate and I think I may be able to do it this week. At least this means that the people playing on the vanilla server have something invested in it and should play a bit nicer . I don't know what the plans for it are, but being respectfull of the other players and their creations is a given.
Just throwing my op in. I would love to play the vanilla server - if everyone else did. I like the idea but it would be like all the effort put into Arcadia was pointless. This is no different than me playing two separate servers, and im definitely not doing that!
I kinda understand your dilemma, but I like playing vanilla as well as playing on shadecrest, and there are quite a few others who share my opinion, and it is like playing 2 different servers, except that you get to play with the same people. See you on shadecrest then
