Shooting Range

Am I allowed to make a medium sized dark area with a small base in the middle to kill mobs in? If so, am I allowed to make water currents push the mobs to the base so I can kill them? Not really a mob trap, and it won't be laggy. It will be in an enclosed area, surrounded be a 6 and a half block high walls. Wasn't sure what topic to write this under, so offtopic seemed fine. thxbai -Pie
