month of January contest ideas

So we decided to put this months contest to a vote before we do the sign up post. What I was think was having and open block id contest. And also if you guys want a team build off for the new year now is the time to speak up. So it looks as if we would have enough room for 4 teams I think with each team being giving 2 plots. or we could do a team build with single plots. I'll let you guys decide. So vote here and make it quick poll is only open for 3 days. Also put down some ideas for the theme. Our idea was New Year Party

 

Theme should be "Hail Satan".

i would suggest doing a theme that most people will want to do like (i know boring) medieval or Tudor etc that way you will get more competitors, but i'm up for anything though

 

Airships, we can use the winner in the survival games map

 

I suggest some architectural style that we lack on the server, to encourage people to start building unique stuff, we have too many pagodas, tudor houses, modern houses etc

There's always Neoclassical A360P but I suspect we have allot of that too.
A good ole bit of Brutalist?

Most of the modern houses people seem to do are apparently called Usonia or De Stijl style.

Mabey just who can build the best one functional building type such best blacksmith, best lumber mill, best backers.
I'd avoid things like best library or hospital because that could just turn into "best building."

especially airships sooo much freedom the plot will have to be bigger tho

 

I like the idea of making the competition judged purely on details like furnishing, lighting etc. and taking a step back from the build quality for once.

 

esentially its down to you how you judge it, it should be done by best use of materials and representation of theme

We've already had an airships contest, I don't think we need another. But, a "hail Satan" theme. Damn, that'd be sweet.

Hmmm, how about a theme of hades, the greek underworld? It would look more like a cave than the nether, something that isn't practiced alot; and with all the greek monsters it is the perfect idea for the use of statues. It is something that most people aren't used to, but it should produce amazing results and allow other people to take the podium.

 

what about towers? it was new years, so how about everyone makes cool towers
