Everything about 1.8

I said I'd make a written post about the new things in 1.8. I researched it all, and put in the most important stuff. I left out a few minor things that don't matter. This took me a few hours, so please leave feedback!. I linked the names of each new addition to a picture of it.

[li]Dropping an item make's the item stick, and gradually sink through it.[/li]
[li]Falling into a cobweb will NOT prevent fall damage. However, it will be delayed until you make contact with the ground.[/li]
[li]When destroyed by shears, pistons, or a sword, it drops 1 string.[/li]
[li]They ARE flammable, but can't be ignited.[/li]

[li]Items thrown on the cobweb will slowly and will hit the ground after around 20 seconds.[/li]

[li]Signs and paintings can be placed on cobwebs.[/li]
[li]Jumping from as little as one block above a cobweb, onto it, will induce half of a heart in fall damage. [/li]
[li]Placing cobwebs on ice will increase the slowing effect of the cobweb. [/li]
[li]Cobwebs will slow the time of a player breaking blocks like when in water. [/li]
[li]It takes exactly 10 seconds to get across a cobweb on top of soul sand with ice under, given that you had a running start and did NOT jump. [/li]

When you look away, they will quickly run towards you; if they are a long distance away, they will teleport several times until close enough to reach you. They will only teleport to somewhere you can see. Endermen can teleport about once per second.[/li]

[li]NPC Villages will have their own biome in order to solve many of the problems currently hindering their development.[/li]

[li]There is now a food meter.

[li]Food no longer heals directly but indirectly.[/li]
[li]If the food meter is about a certain point, half a heart is healed about every five seconds.[/li]
[li]The food meter is possibly optional since Notch said that it was possible to play without food.[/li]

[li]Food will be stackable.[/li]
[li]Food takes 1.6 seconds to consume.[/li]
[li]There is now a food eating animation.[/li]
[li]There will most likely be sound effects for consuming food.[/li]

[li]New achievements:

[li]Kill a skeleton with an arrow at 50 meters.[/li]
[li]Possibly attempting Shoot the Moon with an arrow.[/li]

[li]Sprinting. By double pressing the forward button, the player will move faster.

[li]Sprinting will be limitless, but will deplete your food bar.[/li]
[li]Hitting a mob while sprinting sends them flying about 8 blocks away.[/li]
[li]Jumping while sprinting allows you to jump the length of 4 blocks.[/li]

[li]Possibly Spike blocks. At first, Jeb considered Spike Pistons, but then thought about making a Spike block that can be pushed by a Sticky Piston.[/li]
[li]Arrows will get stuck on mobs when they hit.[/li]
[li]Chests open state/animation. They are no longer forced to face west when placed independently of other blocks. Also, the lock is now 3D[/li]

I recommend embedding the image URL into the spoilers as oppose to hyperlinks. It looks better and keeps the tabs at bay.

It may of just been from me copying and pasting so much, but there's already a little lag with this thread, being so big and having so much BBCode. I didn't know how to actually put the pictures in, and make it look good as well.

There is no lag in the thread, go nuts! Sites like Hulu or newgrounds are far more taxing yet load up in a second. To embed an image go to your picture links and right-click the image and choose copy image url. Click the insert image button below the bold button and paste the image url there making it will look like this.
