Regarding the experience rates for mcmmo on this server, I find them quite low. Too low. I honestly believe experience rates (for certain skills at least) should be raised. Skills like repair, herbalism, and unarmed are a few examples. These skills (and possibly others) take an immense amount of effort to level up. I've been using a diverse farm for two weeks now, and only reached level 15 herbalism (playing nearly everyday). To see even a slight benefit from herbalism, I must reach level 50 - for a half a heart boost. I'd rather not grind skills on this server. In my opinion, it detracts from the overall gameplay. Players should be able to passively level up skills, and receive benefits from doing so. This would leave players with more time to pvp, earn money, and have fun. I hope you consider my suggestion. Again, I'm only suggesting experience rates for "hard" skills to be increased. Not for commonly trained skills (such as mining and excavation). ~Protons
You can level fast, You just have to take time, Me and my friend Millz made Giant Mushroom farm and we get about 7-10 levels per harvest. Not to mention the shrooms we get, And now we're working on a giant sugarcane farm to keep harvesting non-stop so we can level all day, it'll take a while, guaranteed to level but I'll level at least 20 If I do it for a couple hours, All you have to do is take the time to build what's needed to level, Look at pyro's farm, Sure it's hard to level herbalism, but with his farm he levels atleast 10 levels per harvest, does it take him a while? Yes. But it does work.
Well, I'm limited to a 16x16 chunk in the town I live in. I guess herbalism is a easy to train skill for some. However, I find it really hard to train repair, as you need broken tools and armor.
doesnt actually take me too long... my sugar cane farm is also designed at max efficency and for visual looks (i could do more sugarcane in the area, but then it would be lopsided... and i care) my sugarcane farm will grow in the time it takes me to harvest it all... i get three inventories of sugarcane per harvest, and in an hour can gain 10 levels or so at 130-140.... to me that is too fast... repair, if i have the diamond items to repair, i can gain 5-15 levels in seconds... thats too fast to me again... i guess what i am saying, if if you want to get fast skills, come to Mine Co (/warp mineco) and take a good look at my farm... the bottom layer was made to look nice attached to a canal... it is not super efficent... the second layer was made to maximize efficiency for the size of the farm, it does a decent job but i am thinking still there are better ways... and i intend to find out... the third layer is my sugar cane... to do a full harvest of each level in one go, i will clear my inventory between 6 and 9 times, have a large chest and a half to THREE large chests of wheat (i actually never calculated it... i should do that tommorow) and over a large chest of seeds... plus a chest and a half of sugarcane... plus the levels... and i get all this in about an hour and 5-10 min... with replanting thrown in there...
for your repair at low levels, make a ton of stone tools, go break a buncha stuff and get em down to red then repair with cobble... i use shovels as the time diffrence from a stone shovel to a iron shovel is minimal... and they wear out fast... or use iron if ya got the resources to spare... iron shovels are nice... go harvest sand and get your excavation up,
Do /mctop repair Next time your online. I did it, Pyro did it. All you have to do is mine, Use armour Get it damaged, Repair with the iron you mined. Or a faster way, Ask people (Like your town mates.) If you can repair any Armour you get from the enemies they kill. Or go PvPing yourself and Repair the armour you get.
Alright, I'll try those methods. Thanks. I just find it odd that some skills have the people with lvl 50-100 at the top, when the maximum level is 1000. Most benefits come after level 50 anyways. I guess I'm just tried of grinding skills.
Well at 500 axes, you get 1 hit KO's, 500 Swords, you parry almost everytime, 500 archery, you daze and Catch your enemies on fire, 750 herbalism soup heals 9 hearts instead of 5, 500 repair you can repair an Diamond chestplate that has like no bar left with 2 diamonds. (Tested), 500 Acrobatics you roll more than half the time, ECT.
We had it faster at one point, but the admins lowered it and chopped everyone's skills in 5ths or something of the sort because it was far too easy.
I had just joined the server, and then my meager level 5 mining got chopped down to like one. Meanwhile others still had like 500 sword skills. So, either make it easier to level up, or, make it harder and completely reset the skills.
or we can just leave it alone and stop messing with it! god damn people... everyone is dealing with the same stuff... how much time you put in a skill reflects your skill at it...
I know its a old topic but do anyone have any suggestions for how to lvl up in excavation fast? Im a bid stuck cause the mining world only got the big mountain near spawn and a few small islands around and then is there the rule about not to run around and dig random holes and at last is there the fact that you don't get xp for stuff you placed yourself. thanks in advance and just to mention: i wanna excavate i just can't if noone need a place cleared.
How to dig under water at a normal speed and without drowning? or else where? am i supposed to mine untill i find some dirt or gravel? The only idea i got to make mining world useable is to reset it so there comes some land.
lol i did modify this reply instead of making a new one... sry but i other things to do than to whrite it again.
So, go a different direction. There are areas with tons of dirt and sand all throughout the mining world. Levelling excavation is not hard
k i will try... as soon as possiple forgot the power cable for my labtop... so im gonna try to install minecraft 1.8 without having acces to .minecreft folder on a stationare pc...
Yea just find some random land and dig up every block of dirt and sand you see. That's how I got to #1 in excavation I recommended using stone shovels You'll be using a lot of iron or diamonds.
