If you weren't just in-game, you missed our discussion. We've come to a conclusion that a Cash4Gold, Cash4Diamond, and Cash4Iron kiosk is needed. There is too much supply, and not enough demand. So, whataya guys think? I know this was suggested, and denied, but, we just all talked again.
I agree with this completely and I hope the admins will seriously consider it. it would remove supply from the game by buying peoples diamonds and iron. Currently when people sellthem, they go to another player. The amount in the system stays the same and the price does as well, or goes down as more are added. If players could sell them to a kisok, the items disappear and there are fewer in the system. This would caus eprices to go up. Granted people would get a few rupies out of it, but its easy to get rupies anyway and this WILL raise prices on goods. Demand is constant in this game and very low, so to effectively raise the prices we NEED to limit supplu. The mining world reset is a great step forward, but I think kiosks would be that last step we need to fix the prices. Having said that, I also think we need more ways to gamble,and/or spend rupies. A way that gets them out of the system, not to another player. Admin run casino would be great if we can find a good plugin. Maybe the lottery could pay only 90% of the total tothe winner and the ohter 10% is taxed away to oblivion. Please consider these ideas greatly as I think they will really help and make ShadeCrest a better place
That was another thing we all talked about. The mining world being reset too much. And I get what you mean about the server being based on one thing. But what's wrong with too many rupies? That's why, like wkd suggested, you should maybe implement something like a casino, or more stuff in the specialty shop. There needs to be more things for people to spend rupies on. :3
I think i was the first person to suggest buying more to get rid of resources. The admin wont do this because his idea is that people should not have so much money, its to easy to start a town etc. But limiting money will make the game very boring! Instead he should raise the price on stuff like creating a city. Right now we have a server with expanding resources, prices will definetly go down ruining the game. By buying other resources then gold we would have server that expands in money. This will also make prices slowly go up = much more fun and better for everyone. Minecraft is about collecting resources, budiling etc, alot of people play on this server becasue they want to be the richest. Its a competition. Im not interested in having my own city, i just want to trade/sell and mine to be filthy rich. Thats the part of the game that i like others like fighting, building etc. I dont like admins changes, he kind of ruined the trading part of the game. And to bad he seems to be the kind of guy to stubborn to admit hes wrong, unable ot admit his own faults. So i dont think this will happen. If you do it... You can leave gold on 25. But please do buy iron, diamond, lapis. You shouldnt pay so much because we want trading to be the best option. My prices based on gold at 25 would be Diamond: 35 Rupies Iron: 2 Rupies Lapis block: 10 euro Diamonds shouldnt be so expensive its more fun if people arent afraid to use them.
Gold isn't used as a form of currency and it has no value in Minecraft (except for gold armor, watches, and powered rails), unlike Iron and Diamond. There are so many rupies out there, and there is so much gold out there (via the mining world and its resets), that the Rupie is inflating like the dollar is today. If we can find a way to put ourselves back to a standard of limiting assets (whether rupies, gold, iron, diamond, etc.) on their way in (by limiting the mining world resets to a very long time period), and not take assets out (One-way cash4gold kiosks), then we will have a more sound method of transaction; where every resource is somewhat rare (therefore is worth more). The value in the rupie (and all currency in the modern world) is the premace that I can always trade it for something of value. Why would having a place for even trading of diamonds and iron reduce this? Imaxorz, let the server have a vote on what they want to do.
Well here's the thing, of course people will bitch about you raising prices on warps and stuff. That's just how people are. I think warps should be more expensive, as they're not exactly realistic (neither are a lot of things, as it's a game, but you get what I'm saying) Having warps is a privilege. Honestly, we need more things to spend money on. Why exactly don't you want any more cash4something? Think about this. Say people sell a lot of their diamonds/gold/iron and a Cash4 Kiosk. Ok, so now, those items are gone, meaning there's less supply. Yeah, they'll have more money, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. If everyone has a lot of money, and someone offers to sell, say, diamond, since there is less of a supply, the people that wanna buy it will offer more rupies than the other person competing to buy it.
i agree with max this is suppose to be a survival/sandbox/mmo were already loosening the survival with iconomy. a nd if we sell diamond nd iron to admin shop where will it go? the money will just stop cycling. its suppose to be hard to get rupies.
I am using Diamond and Iron for tools, armor and weapons. Why are you collecting these up only to have so much of them now that you want to sell them to an admin shop? IMHO, gold ingots are enough as constant for economy. EDIT: if any, there may be admin shops for ultra-rare items like: Slime Balls, Saddles, Music Discs, Golden Apples.
Or, more awesome would be this: Once a week (like every friday) a special admin shop is installed, accepting one item for a very good price. I.E. it buys a Compass for 50r. The item for purchase will NOT be announced beforehand! For the sake of the thread starters, the item could also be made out of diamond like armor or tools.
There already is a secret admin shop for rare items. Yeah I like this. Maybe it shouldn't be as common as compasses though.
Well, you could make it, but I'd be dirt cheap, And you can tax players on the server like 200 rupies or less a day. For EX: Cash4Diamonds would be 10 rupies. 10 x 64 = 640 So you can sell your diamonds for cash, but i'd be cheap.. And less for Iron, but sooner of later people will sell it because they'll have to pay for there tax, If they fail, Maybe you could Send them to jail ^.^ or take there marketplots away or something.
When a new player joins the server, understanding the economy shouldn't make them feel like a hammer is being taken to their head. "1 gold = 25 rupies, rupies is how to pay for stuff" is easy to understand, within the means of inclined players, and serves the purpose of having a base measure of value (regardless of previous conversion rates). You don't need other cash4whatever kiosks to figure out what to price stuff in transactions. If you think you should get 10r per diamond (to randomly grab one suggested value), then set up a shop chest selling diamonds for 10r each.
I think this is a great idea as gold is quite hard to get sometimes it would be very handy to be able to exchange iron!
