If you've got an xbox, I'd say Red Dead Redemption, but it's not terribly long.

If you haven't tried Bioshock or Bioshock 2, I suggest those. The first is especially amazing and the second one has multiplayer, so it lasts quite a while. Other than that, I personally a fan of RTS games, so Company of Heros, Age of Empires III, or Civilization V are good ones. Don't know if any of those are your cup of tea, but there worth a shot.

Civ V is overrated, if you want a solid civ game head back to civ 2 or play Civ 4.

Sim City is a fantastic game to kill time, Sim City 4 has the map selection, the best thing to do is to try and get all your cities working in harmony... i suggest that you get some of the mods for it though as the highway system is fubar in the vanilla sim city.

if you like war games and historiclly acurate games go old school and play the close combat serise of games, there are five of them, and they are tons of fun, also, i suggest that you check out tom clancy's full spectrum of games, he has a good developer on his side when it comes to games.

Bioshock and Bio2 are fun to play, do so with the lights off and a surround sound headset. immerse yourself in the game, turn on a fan pointed directly at you and let a water mister go into the fan... feels like your there... :) it was a blast...

Racing games i have a soft spot for nascar games, i also like need for speed for some reason... i dont really know why... but i do...

go get world of goo off steam, its a blast to play... but not long...

start the icewind dale serise of games all over again if you have played it, if not, why are you here?

neverwinter nights is ok... sometimes overrated... but has a nice story and long playtime if you do everything

The settlers are a fun game to player... a civilization builder with war... a god like game... play the first one Serf City if you have a dos computer, if not, start with #2. do not play serf city on Dos Box... it never seems to play right for me...

if you have dos box, or a dos computer, play Robinsons Requiem, it is a fun adventure/survival game. most often you will die of water bourn diseases, remember to BOIL YOUR WATER!

a good replay is always mario RPG... its a nice comical game, i enjoy it...

if you have dos, play dark sun, its an old D&D rpg, it is a blast, hard to master, fun to play... do not make only one character... make a bunch, one character is hard mode, and hard mode in old games was actually hard... not like these new games... with one character you can forcefully escape the dungeon you start in, but once out in the desert.... things get a little tough...

Dungeon seige is a good game as well... i found the story a little typical, but the gameplay was fun... the camera also ticked me off alot... i wont play it on my laptop for that exact reason...

if you like MMORPG's play Aion, Rift, then Age of Conan and pick your favorite... they are fun to play... if you have a decent computer, play Aion at max graphics... it is a beautiful game...

Starcraft is always good for a second play through, get the newest patches and toss the difficulty to max, just to give yourself a challange... i cleaned house on the hardest setting of SC one in about twleve hours... so i figure you can get a few hours of enjoyment from it.

Sid's Pirates is a fun game to play, both the old one and the newer one...

Pirate of the burning sea is a MMO that is based around pirates, its a fun one... play on antigua server... :) wink wink....

any and all lego games.... they are a blast! wait... i take that back... avoid the mmo that was shut down cause it sucked... they are revamping it though... so it might be great later...

Sins of a solar empire is a game that if you make the world huge, you can play for weeks straight... its a fun game... :)

Spore is a blast at the early stages, but i found the space age very repetitive... i just build creatures now... :)

world of tanks is fun to play... i log on there probally once a week to blow stuff up...

thats a list of a few games i enjoy... there are tons more obviously... but some suggestions... :)
