So now, imaxorz made it so you can't lock doors. Meaning, anyone can get in your house. But say you're busy storing stuff, and didn't get to lock the chests yet. The only solution, I believe, is to do combination locks for your door. "But wait, I'm not good with redstone!" ~you Well that's what I'm here for. I can lock your house for you, with a combination of your choice. Yes, I WOULD know your combo, but I'm busy with my own project, so I have no need to go in your house anyways. So, if you want a combo lock for your door(s), reply to this thread with the following filled in: IGN: Type of Lock (see below): and then PM me the amount of levers/buttons you would like (so no one will know from reading your post). The price of your lock depends on the complexity and size, and whether you provide me with the materials or not. Locks If you think of any other way for a lock, let me know. [li]Button [li]Simple (Anyone can guess [random button pressing] )[/li] [li]Include "Confirm" and "Reset" Button[/li] [/li] [li]Lever [li]Simple (Anyone can guess [random lever pulling] )[/li] [li]Include "Confirm" Button[/li] [/li]
There are a few other methods, as well: I'm particularly fond of the hidden piston door. Booby-traps are also effective "locking" measures, though in a less traditional and more hilarious sense.
Yeah I can do hidden piston doors, but still, you'd need a visible lever or button right? So why not combo lock for a hidden door?
The design I know of, you put a torch in the right place to unlock it. Which could easily be expanded into a combination lock, as well. Not quite as elegant, but has no visible parts.
I've tried to make button and lever locks and they take up quite a bit of room, in some houses it will be hard for you to hide the wiring. Also, are iron doors allowed in towns?
perhaps you can make a tutorial on youtube so people can make one of their own. and could hire you for help.
This is a really cool idea, but I have to ask. Can't people just break into your house? Break a small hole and done?
In PVP yes, they can do 2x1. Not in NON-PVP though. I don't know exactly the rules for PVP, so you'd have to check with someone else on that.
TDRH: you can now break a 2x1 hole in someone's home In non-pvp as long as you replace the blocks, it's on the rules page.
Or, better yet... Go on Youtube, type in, "minecraft combination lock tutorial" and boom. That's it. Now you know how to make a combination lock, congratulations.
