    No mining world, With the mining world your making non renewable resources renewable take that out and it will add value.

    The economy here will fluctuate with the players and how much they mine.

    This will always be an issue, if you want to call it that.

    I dont see it as an issue.... If anything you people need to be grateful for an economy that works. Most servers dont have them, and if they do the admin/mods give away free material which is the real cause of ruining a implemented currency system.

    Dont change anything. Let the prices fall and rise based on the demands of the players.

    If people are mining a ton of diamonds... price goes down for everyone. If they are not, it goes up.. this is a problem how?

    My end conclusion: Its fine. Dont change a thing.

    i think 200 a week is perfectly fine, i would much rather see a 40 a day tax, encourage people to actually sell items,

    40 a day would add to 280 a week...

    Okay, as an Economics student/enthusiast lets see what I can add to this discussion:
    First is, I hate the idea of taxing/charging for warps, protections, etc. for one major reasons.
    - Taxes are only good for completing public works/paying government expenses. Sense Shadecrest has no need for these things, there is no need to have taxes. Max can just add money to the economy, there is no need to have "money sinks".

    The problem that I see here is that items are dropping in price. This makes resources less valuable, and is basically the result of inflation. There are a few solutions to inflation.
    -Limiting supply to money.
    -Limiting supply to resources.
    -Various Government regulations.

    My solution incorporates these three things to solve the economic problem.
    Step 1. Lower the price of gold and payment for voting. Keep Cash4Gold and the voting rewards, but lower them (75r each)
    Step 2. Either do away with, or never reset Mining world. Resources are WAY too easy to find, the less that there are the higher the prices will rise.
    Step 3. Regulate shops. Set price floors for items that would be illegal to break (e.g. 64 Sugarcane can be sold at 2r or higher) (note: this hurts my shop significantly, but it is a working solution).
    Step 4. We need to limit/eliminate people selling items at spawn. We have a marketplace and a mall, people should make use of this, and these can be easily regulated. (this is the best solution I think)

    Okay. We would set a floor price for every item.
    We will use the example mentioned above.
    2 rupies would be a minimum price for a stack of 64 Sugarcane.
    If anyone tries to sell it for less (e.g. akpickle sells a stack of 64 for 1 rupie) then the shop will be shut down temporarily until the price is raised to the set minimum.
    We would set these "floor" prices for every item (including diamond, lapis, gold, etc.)

    What about selling protection, like the bonus VIP's get to protect people's homes and charge them a weekly tax for sustaining the protection?

    If that's possible sure. I think I get what you're saying. In chest shops, there's a min price you have to sell certain items for?

    The problem with setting minimum prices in shops, people will start to trade using the trade channel and nobody will use shops.

    I do like the idea of a server wide tax, but I understand it will be a little annoying for players that have so much more money. Perhaps we could trial it at 0.1% per week/day or something?
    We should charge for warps, as max said.

    I also think there should be more things on the server that people can spend money on, like gambling or taxing the lottery for example.
    I'll see if there's any interesting plugins that use iconomy as well.

    -i think we should have 1000r per protection like it used to be.
    -you should lower the voting to 100r(only temporary)
    -cash for gold 75r (only temporary)
    -towns should be required to have 50 r taxes (just vote once a day and your good)
    -mining world reset every 3 months

    Votes are very important to keep people coming into the server, so I think that should stay at 250r.
    I think 3 months might be too long for the mining world, 1-2 months should be fine.

    You basically just copied what I've written.

    And blat, there's WAY too much supply from the constant mining world reset and not enough demand.

    The whole point is to completely outlaw trade without shops/mall. That way it can be monitored and regulated. Use the trade channel to advertise shops/post mall prices.
    Once again, taxes makes no sense. Taxes are only needed in real life for government funding, and we have no need for that. Let people hoard money. That isnt bad thing. The problem is prices of items. Thats what we need to fix. Regulation of prices or supply.

    Casino plugin for VIPs to setup. slot machine. 20% of earnings go to admin bank. user payout is in gold or just ruppies.

    As a new player to both Shadecrest and Minecraft itself here is my 50 cents. Being able to warp between /home and /warp mining free of charge has been a huge convenience. Charging a player for the sole purpose of taking money out of the economy becomes a struggle for economic stability and player convenience. As a player I want my play time to be straight forward and simple.

    A poster suggested lowering the trade in value of gold from 100r to 75r. Although, I agree with the reasoning I suggest sticking with simplicity. I have 53 gold ore on hand making me 5,300r. At a sale price of 75r I would have..uhh.hmm *pulls out calculator*

    I can't speak for town taxes due to living in the outskirts. However, I refute the idea of a daily tax on the commoner living beyond the city limits. I never want to log in because I need to make and pay a bogus due as oppose to logging on to enjoy the community. I would like to see Shadecrest avoid a bunch of taxes/fees for the sake of pulling money out of the game because I as a player do not want to keep track of all that hoopla. K.I.S.S without the last S.

    Going back to convenience vs economic stability I want to use this chance to speak up about the newly implemented mall. A classic example of undoing what the staff is now proposing. The marketplace was a money sink, creative outlet and a focus for new players like myself to strive for. Now with the mall selling items is "free" with no lot cost. It offers no creativity like a chest over the doorway, a flaming building, sugarcane lava water structure or a shop featuring only its abandoned door. The exchange is convience but at what cost? I haven't decided yet myself.

    I like Max's idea of extending the mining world duration from it's 2 weeks~ to a full month. It is a refreshing change to see snow but at the same time I enjoy watching the landscape evolution of the mining world. If this is a solution I would be happy with either time frame.

    Those are my dislikes and my likes.


    Here is my proposal. We need high priced status items. It could be a 100,000r creeper toy that sits on display in your home. It could be a rare 200r/block sold by Shadecrest exclusively. It would have no edge over current in-game blocks other than a different aesthetic that says "Hey I bought this." Or maybe we could buy a pet. Though, it is my understanding this could take away from neutral animal spawns. These are just examples.

    The focus is high tiered status items that give people reason to mine and craft. Something to talk about and show off. Taxes, floor prices, changing the price of gold and maybe changing the mining world duration would only do the opposite. Give players reason to complain and not want to play.

    It baffles me how people manage to be greedy and short sighted on a game as much as they are real life.

    I don't consider myself an economics student/enthusiast/professor, i thought this was all common sense.

    PLAYER TAX-For a start, the 4-5% player tax would be good as it would make money hoarders spend. They'll have to buy resources or pay people to work for them, both of these things stimulate the economy and keep things moving.

    Seeing as an economy isn't an economy if money isn't constantly circulating.

    People can moan "Oh but I've worked hard for my money"... well if you're not going to spend it why did you bother?

    GOLD-Also I like the idea of adjusting the price of gold to fit the economy, similar to how gold prices change in the real world market. (Hence why people invest in gold stocks).

    DIAMONDS-As for Diamonds something more needs to be done other than "herp derp you need to use diamonds more". Me and Saint share all our stuff and both use diamond tools/weapons/armour and we still have a load of diamonds lying around.

    Possibly some sort of game/activity that everyone will want to get involved in that you spend diamonds in (Someone who knows more about minecraft and plug ins maybe can come up with something). I agree a Diamond4cash kiosk would be a bad idea.

    TOWNS-I think town taxes should be based on number of residents, so the more residents the higher the tax. Which I don't see a problem with as the more residents there are the easier it'll be to raise funds, this will also make it easier for smaller towns to grow so we can get more towns to a sort of level they can compete with the BIG THREE in pvp atm.

    PROTECTIONS- As for charging for these I couldn't agree more, its pretty ridiculous how much people abuse the protections making houses out of protected furnaces for example.

    This is all relatively simple stuff, I don't get people having a problem with them.
