Lets take a look at economy's in other games, ie. Runescape. I think the problem is, people dont care about buying in shops because they can make stuff themselfs. In real life you cant make a ps3 or tv by yourself, so we buy them. I think this is a problem that cant be fixed. (Its Minecraft, not real life -_-)

enough i understand if you dont have money you dont want others to have it but its been this way for a long time now and just because someone gets mad that another person has lots of money dosnt mean you should limit money charge teleportations, etc. IT SHOULD STAY THE SAME.. SO stop wining and get over it

I agree with every suggestion except the daily tax, and that is for obvious reasons. The top people would be losing around 5,000 rupies a day, which sucks if you worked hard for your money. There are a going to bey a lot of money sinks already. I think the daily tax is going over the top.

I like everything else though and they seem to be very reasonable in terms of cost.

With all due respect but implementing this while there are players who won the super lottery. They are just going to get a free ride while the rest of us struggle.

I like this. It'll prevent people from warping everywhere for no reason. However, does it include /home ?

Definitely I agree with this. Maybe make it so Mayors and assistants don't get charged though? Or, you only get charged for doing /town spawn for a town you're not a part of.

I say we go back to that. We had to pay for protections when I joined the server. But, make sure you make a big announcement about it.

That's how it should be anyways.

There is a lot of gold circulating, especially with the mining world resets every two weeks. Maybe lower the amount of rupies you get when selling/buying gold. Also, change the mining world reset to every month or maybe two months?

A tax of 4% on whatever your balance is? I don't like that honestly, as people with a LOT of money would be losing a LOT of money daily.

    [hr][hr][hr]

Maybe charge a tax when someone sells or buys something?

Would the chest protection system be retroactive?

I think new money sinks are a good idea. Taxes on warping etc are great ideas. However, punishing people who have put in lots of time to make their money with things like a flat tax (3-5%) hurts the people who play the most on the server, possibly making them want to play less. Why work hard t omake money if you lose a percentage of it allthe time? Tax things that people do regularly to get more money out of the economy but dont flat out take it. In the end that will only hurt the server. Less often resets on the mining world and charges on warps and protections alone would be enough to fix things. Any more than that and you risk making it too hard to get started for new players and punish the players who are investing all their time here. If you mine 10 times as much as others and are very active, you should be rich, thats how all economies work.

I think the ideas listed my Max are good, but the Daily tax I think is a bad idea... thinking it might turn players away from investing in the rupie and investing into material goods like gold or diamonds.

If I knew my money way going to go down by 3-5% every day I would keep a min amount of rupies and not go past that point unless absolutely needed.

I think this would have a negative effect on the economy.

i do not like the idea of charging for using /warp as that is how people get to marketplaces, malls, and my store, and VIP's that have donated to set up a warp point would be charged to use their warp?

the problem with charging a tax on people is that i could see the top money players liquidating their money to get resources, to avoid paying massive taxes, people like myself, dyno and blat and inno who worked to get our cash big would be taxed 1300-2600 a day at 1% tax, where as the little guys that are just starting out are taxed 10 a day, keep their rupies at 0 and dont pay taxes and do not contribute to market places...

all i could see global taxes doing is punishing those who worked for their cash, keeping people out of towns due to lack of funds, and having a ton of people at 0 rupies and not contributing to the market place...

By retroactive, I mean will current protections cost us money?
I.E. Can people use up all their protections now to avoid being charged? Will there be a protection limit?

u could always make it a diamond standard instead of gold standard...just as an idea then everyone would have to decide between using diamonds for tools to get diamonds are cashing in the diamonds...just as an idea

I think the tax on currently held Rupies just discourages the use of currency. Similarly, a tax on transactions/stores just discourages their use as well. People can easily fall back on item-based bartering if tax becomes an annoyance.

Usage taxes for warps, etc. are a good idea. /spawn and /home should probably always be free, but non-resident town warps and world warps could easily handle a 20r usage tax.

Remember, the goal is to keep prices stable, keep the system accessible to new players (i.e. combat inflation) and keep the currency a viable, convenient, easily transferred way of storing assets in liquid form. Not to punish those with too much money, nor to provide increased value or worth to any individual or class.

I like the idea of the Cash4Gold, as otherwise Gold is pretty worthless as a material for how rare it is. Lapis also seems to have that issue, to an extent, though the multiple drops from each lapis block helps with that.

Yes, the Cash4Gold market artifically increases Gold's price, but I think that's OK. I don't think it causes destabilization in other resources, too much, and it remains pretty stable in price outside of the Cash4Gold market.

personally what i would like to see

    1: a pay to use /town spawn
2: a pay to use another persons /home
3: a pay to use your own /home
4: a tax on marketplace plots
5: a cost to open shops outside of marketplace (Eg: Mine Co. charged for the amount of chests it uses per month) or a % taken from each sale (5%?)

what we could really do is tough it out for a month like this until the adventure update is released and the mod files are updated, and then see what happens... the adventure mode might change the game dynamic so much that the market starts having items that we need to use that are disposable and breakable, ... you never know...

I personally think the mining world should be reset less, maybe every 2-3 months? That way there's less supply, and more demand.

I don't think there should be a daily tax, as that would quickly drain everyone's money. As pyro said, we should wait for the new update.

Btw, I just sold the 36 gold blocks I had, resulting in:

I say put a tax on buying anything, like in real life. And as I suggested before, charge and put a tax on /home set , and maybe do like a mortgage thing or something. Idk, just another input :3

Gunna throw in my 2 cents here, and I've said it before. I think a problem is the lack of people BUYING items at their shops. I go to the mall and see 400 people selling one product but none buying it. I don't wanna open a shop and have to compete with items. There needs to be a lowest buying price for items, except items like cobble and such. There needs to be some sort of order when opening shops. I for example make sure people can sell to my shop to help people get SOME money at least

That's what I'm saying. No one needs to buy, because the mining world is reset so much. Like I said, there's way too much supply, and very little demand. Don't reset the mining world that often. I'm saying 4 times a year, every 3 months:p
