Just a general suggestion, nothin crazy! The chats I think, if you're able to could use a little overhaul! I think that for new players, theres a ton of info to absorb when you first join a server. The guides here at Shadecrest are second to none, and I think this could make the learning curve even easier for new players who are learning commands etc. Again, this is a moot post if chats are set by a plugin or soemthing lol Suggestion: Available Chats /ALERT --- Admins/Official Announcements (RED /ALERT) /help --- Help channel, very much needed (Light Blue /h ) /local --- General Vicinity - not used enough (Yellow /l) /trade --- Contests/Trading/Free Stuff etc goes in here (Light Red /tr) --- can we change this color, to similar to alerts (green?) /town chat --- Essential and much loved chat for town members (Paleish Blue /tc) Can we just rename to /town or /t ?? /towndiscussion --- Town Advertising pretty much!.. could be done in offtopic but not a big deal. /off topic --- The wonderful "If it doesnt fit above, it goes here" chat. (Lets make this brownish/tan!?) /global --- This seems to be the problem channel that is used incorrectly the most. Its just confusing because anything that could be said in here probably could be put into any of the channels above. /church --- (local?) /irc --- (why have a chat for a chat?/anyone use it ever?) /PVP --- (Use Local) Lastly, a suggestion to add a chat: Nether/Mining- basically a chat that could be heard anywhere in the nether/mining ONLY if you are in that world. I think thats it!! So by clippings some of the chat we will make it less confusing for people to know where to appropriately type in game!
I agree. Anything said in global can be said in offtopic. The global channel is just something more that we have to look at. And for the church.. well if your having some kind of service in the church then just use local so people that are not at the church don't have to see all the text. Also, no one really uses the IRC channel so that should be removed in my opinion, but it's not that big of a deal.
Yeah I agree with everything except TownDiscussion is for advertising, it just separates it more so people don't advertise town in Off-Topic. And this way if you're in a town and don't want to see advertisements you can leave TD, if we took it out you wouldn't be able to avoid seeing advertisements which could be kind of annoying at times. Maybe make global only accessible to the MODS, and Admins. That might work better for last-resort use. Or maybe if you abuse global you get perm-muted from it?
Sorry! I thought /td was TRADE... and i know it doesnt make sense i just thought it was told that we could advertise in trade. So is there a trade channel? lol
Exactly, only one example deems it useless, if only one person uses it compared to 60, then I saw we trash it.
i say keep pvp, many peaceful players do not want to hear about PVP, PVp players just need to learn to use it instead of o
would this be used like pvp chat.. not at all? If people will use a channel and not ignore it, I think Max will have no problem making it. The problem is that a new /ch will need to be learned how to be used, and players will need to remember to use it. If it will not be used there is no point in creating/keeping a /ch.
I think it would be used a lot. This way miners mining solo can go in the chat and ask for a buddy, or maybe share what minerals they've gotten so far. Same with the nether, people could use it to buddy up, and to see where everyone is and what they're doing. Perhaps max could make another thing that automatically pops up every so ofter saying "Remember to keep chat to their proper channels, /ch list to see a list." That might help as a reminder.
Make a general "/world"-chat channel. The messages there could only be heard in the world, the sender is in. If this is possible. This would combine /pvp, /nether, /mining etc. in one channel. Blumi
Quick suggestion: You can't do /pvp [message] like with other channels to do a quick message. Normally i just want a one word reply, not have to switch to that channel and back. Is this an easy fix?
