Instead of charging players .5% tax every day regardless of activity, why not just charge them 1-10% tax on stuff they buy? I think this system would be more fair to the people who can only pay and weekends and dont wanna lose tons of money over the 5 days of inactivity. Please reply and give me your thoughts.

I like it! If there's a way to do it, I'm not sure...

I don't think we have a way to do this. Anyways, people will just circumvent it by paying someone the money, then having the items dropped and picked up.

naa, this will help get rid of all of that money rich ppl have, like ppl with 51k :p

no, .5% is not bad. It is not fun to have your money taxed away from of you, but a global tax is the best way to keep everybody's balance somewhat even.

someone with 50K will have 250r deducted from global tax, while someone with 1K will only loose 5r. so if you have less than 1K, you won't really notice, so don't even worry.

global tax is like a big rubber band on your balance. the further you go and the more money you have the more it will try to pull you back. but the poorer you are, the less it affects you. so for those who have pulled the rubber band to its limit, like 50K, the more they will need to work to stay there, while you can catch up.

people are greedy and don't want to pay a global tax yet they complain about everybody else who has more than them. And the ones who have a ton of money complain the most "with a possible few exceptions" about loosing money when they should be happy that they have so much to loose. Get over it.

Wealthy players: buy stuff you need from some poor players and share the wealth, or hold on to it and let it crumble from the force of the global rubber band.

Poor players: don't even worry about it.

Bottom line: because it will help the server and it is reasonable, deal with it.

Well, I have(had) 51k and I lose 250 every day (1750r a week) and I can only get this money back with hours of work. Is there any way that this issue can be avoided? I know this is only an issue for 15-20 people, but it's still quite annoying... The rich worked hard to get where they are, wouldn't it be more fair if the buyers lose the money, not the rich? The poor worked the least and it seems like they are being rewarded with the lack of tax. Just my opinion.

P.S. The sales tax will not be given to the seller, the sales tax will be given the the Shadecrest Bank. Just making this clear

And how did my rep get to be -4? lol

@imaxorz the -35 is from people who failed math class due to not understanding the value of the "-" sign.

@PieSquared761 the -4 is from math dropouts as well...
I do not have as much money as you and quite frankly I am glad I don't because I would be "almost" in tears over the sheer volume of rupies leaving me every day. I will hate it to when I start to get a bunch of money, but the whole purpose of the .5% tax is to keep players from having too much money and affecting the economy. Not about who is buying stuff. Even if sales tax was put into place people would circumnavigate it by /money pay *** then dropping items.

People join and leave the server on a daily basis, and without the current tax those who have been on this server for a long time and will continue to stay on would be able to have too many rupies, and force the prices up while the noobs come on with just enough to buy bread at 100r each. "a bit exaggerated I know, but the point still remains"

I know it is hard to stay over 50K, but don't let digital currency ruin mine craft. you can still get along with almost no money; None actually if you never join a town, but that would be boring.

bottom line, what is all that money for? spend some of it. donate it to your favorite town. give it away to a player "I voluntere ;)" or try to fight the tax to keep your money at a very high level. Your choice.

Hmmm... I like the idea, but people could easily get around it. Instead of using the player shop system we have in place now, players could buy directly from other players in order to avoid paying any tax.

^This means that the server will not get any income, no matter how high the sales tax is.

I agree with pie that it isnt fair that the rich people on this server should be losing 2000 rupies a week (I'm not rich by the way), but I don't think that this would be the way to get around it... Perhaps there should be a server wide tax based on our current .5% for everybody who has under a certain amount of rupies, say 25,000 rupies. Everybody who has more than this amount would then only be paid 125r per day.

In other words, the highest anybody could be taxed, no matter how much money they have, would only be 125r a day. That way, all of those people who have earned tons of money won't be screwed over when they're not even playing.

If anyone has any comments or ways to modify this idea, please reply.

Then why not make that against the rules? Or make it so that you have to pay tax for unofficial purchases as well?

Ex. If someone was selling a green music disc, and I bought it for 500r, I would need to pay an extra _% for it and then I would have to /money pay Shadecrest bank or something to give that amount to Shadecrest.

It would be nearly impossible to monitor if somebody followed these rules and paid to the bank. It would create far too much work for the admins, and it could get very unclear. I feel like people would be able to get around paying the tax.

Well, then why not have the tax either weekly or smaller, THEN have the sales tax on top?

This would just encourage people to buy from each other, ad not use chest shops, an easy way around the sales tax.

We could figure something out, I just think we need a better system than the one we have now, is all.

Our current system is fine, if you're inactive buy gold and cash it when you need rupies. We don't need a new tax change in my opinion.

Or we could tax the people who are online that particular day?

I like the simplicity of the global tax.
