You may have noticed an additional tag next to some players' names in chat. The tag signifies milestones in mcMMO (labeled "mastery"), and has 5 different levels. Average level across all skills is greater or equal to 200 Average level across all skills is greater or equal to 400 . . . . . 600! . . . . . 800! . . . . . 1000!! Note: the maximum for all skills is 1000, so mastery level 5 requires maxing all skills. "But what do these ranks add besides the tag?" Perk: Better Elytra Level: 1 Description: This is a fun tweak that lets players gain speed while gliding, allowing them to fly for aslong as the elytra allow. That was just an example for you guys, I haven't proposed that. Maybe I should make the examples more obscure... Here, actual flight proposal. Perk: Flight Level: 5 Description: Access to /fly for building, mining, and exploring. Ideally you would more at a slower speed and use more hunger while flying, which would balance it better for pvp (slow, hovering target). This is the kind of overpowered ability that players should get for completing mcMMO, because god damn, actually completing mcMMO. Link: /fly is already on the server, modifying speed and hunger needs custom code.
That /mute one, may I suggest a vote popping up, and at least 50% of members currently online vote for it to work?
I don't know if it would be possible, but I always enjoyed the idea of having an "Ultimate Skill" for getting high levels in mcmmo's tool skills. Like Berserk punches would know mobs back further than normal, as if you had Knockback I fists, or Tree Feller would have a chance (a small one, maybe 1%) of giving a gold apple. I dunno, prolly OP and impossible, but I'm on a roll, so I'll put more. Super Breaker would apply an extra two levels of Unbreaking on your pickaxe while active. Giga Drill would add one level of both Fortune and Unbreaking to your shovel while active. Green Terra would make an Area of Effect and not only change blocks into their "Green thumb" counterparts, but also grow plants as bonemeal would. Maybe 3x3x3 area. Serrated Strikes would add Smite II and Bane of Arthropods II to the sword, and have a slightly longer reach, maybe a block or so. Skull Splitter would inflict a "concussion" to afflicted mobs, giving them slowness I for ten seconds.
Swear to god, I'm going to switch the examples to "gloop" and "flibbity-florp" Anyway, Knockback Fists: Unlikely because difficulty Golden Trees: Normal golden apple is fine. Normal. Not the shiney one. Super-er Breaker: Uh... If I can cancel the extra damage by permission node, otherwise difficult Omega Giga: See "Knockback Fists" Green Terrarara: See "Omega Giga" Serrated Claymore: See "Green Terrarara" and what in the hell how even longer reach? Skull Obliterator: If I can detect the damage done specifically by skull splitter, otherwise difficult. Trees dropping golden apples is the only one that I know can be done for now.

What's there to understand? Get a lot of experience and get an extra rank. Now we just need *things* for those ranks, and that's what this thread is for. The things don't necessarily need to involve mcMMO or gameplay at all (as seen by the "muting" example above). I'm sick right now so I should be able to pull some ideas out of my ass pretty quick. Perk: Ability cooldown reduction Level: 4 Description: Cut mcMMO cooldowns in half. Link: Permission nodes in mcMMO already on the server. Perk: Local time change Level: 2 Description: Players can set what they see the time as. This does not affect anything other than what they see. Link: Inside CommandBook, already on server. Perk: Dynmap vision Level: 3 Description: See all players on dynmap, as long as they are close to the surface. Link: Node on server Perk: Disguise Level: 4 Description: Appear as a mob. Hm... maybe a perk that increases the length of all abilities by 3 seconds? Special kill messages would be cool. Player Y normally "X was killed by Y wielding Axe/Sword" "X was punched to death by Y" "X was shot by Y wielding Bow" Player Y has max axes, swords, unarmed, or archery. "X was killed by Viking Lord Y wielding Axe" "X was killed by Knight Champion Y wielding Sword" "X was punched to death by Goliath Y" "X was shot by Legendary Bowman Y wielding Bow" Having all skills maxed would be "X was killed by Warmaster Y" The skills themselves would not affect pvp, just if they got to 1000, the message would change.
Nothing to that extent I think at one point they were randomised related to the cause of death (X was pushed off a cliff by Y) and after that is displayed the type of weapon/name of weapon. (X was slain by Y using [Titty Destroyer])
I don't even care anymore, just posting perks that I think of. Blessed Blacksmith: Gain ability to combine higher tier enchants. Able to get Efficiency VI, Smite VI, Bane of Arthropods VI, Respiration IV, and Lure IV. Unlocked after reaching level 1000 in Mining, Repair, and Salvage. Mass Murderer: +1 damage added to bows, swords, axes, and fists against mobs. Unlocked after reaching level 1000 in Swords, Axes, Archery, Unarmed, and Taming. Talented Tamer: Wolves, horses, and ocelots are now tamed instantly. Unlocked after reaching level 1000 in Taming, Herbalism, and Fishing. Sovereign of Skills: All abilities (Berserk, Serrated Strikes, Super Breaker, et cetera) last 50% longer. Unlocked after reaching level 1000 in Swords, Axes, Unarmed, Mining, Excavation, Herbalism, and Woodcutting. Mastery: Reset all MCMMO progress and get +1 second to all abilities, and +1% to all positive chance passive abilities (such as double drops or Green Thumb.) Can be done up to 5 times. Used via command /mcmmo Mastery, and then /confirm twice. Unlocked after reaching level 1000 in all skills.
epic_poke8 I appreciate your enthusiasm, but it annoys me to no end that you still don't understand how the ranks work. It is not per-skill, it is overall power level. There is no way to change that. If your power level is over 2600, you get rank 1 no matter what specific skills you have levels in. Beyond that, just god dammit, because everything you've posted requires a custom plugin. No existing plugin lets you get level VI enchantments on only specific items after getting a permission node. Beyond that, respiration? Higher levels glitch out and make it harder to see underwater, and they still can't compete with water breathing potions. I've decided to make the mcmmo ranks just cosmetic, so none of this even matters. The only benefit is the tag.
epic_poke8 First off, all trails on the server are either VIP perks or reserved. There aren't extra trails we can distribute. Second, player skin disguises and coloring item names in an anvil are ideas reserved for VIP perks. Finally, and most important, READ. THE. THREAD. Locked.
