Of all people, I would think you would love boarder crossing since it saved your life from the cartells!
I like the idea of building new maps and such, but I'd miss all my one-of-a-kind items, such as legendaries and books.
I won't miss a thing. Heading into planning phase of a new town in the hopes of making something memorable. All currency type items are no longer in my hands, so that even if we don't reset, I will.
May mcmmo be reset? It's be fair to make everyone start fresh. Nobody making OP pots, getting double or triple drops from woodcutting, mining, or herbalism, no diamond mining in dirt, no OP loot from fishing, no repair/salvage stuff. At least for a while.
They are likely to return in some form, though much less OP (dual smith pickaxe, I'm looking at you!) The only data I want to keep is ontime, bans, and ranks.
The first leggies were not too OP, if I do recall. The first one I got, Pantyhose (the second one given out, I believe), was a pair of unbr V prot V chain leggings.
epic_poke8 Come on epic, I gave an example of an overpowered legendary item. You quoted my example. I'm not worried about items that were more or less balanced.
Fucks sake epic. If legendary items return, they will not be overpowered. I'm giving no though to the ones that were already somewhat balanced. But Jesus Christ man, you can't keep any items through a reset! It doesn't matter how I feel about some of your items, that data is being deleted; end of story. I thought you understood this when you asked mcMMO to be reset, allowing everyone to start fresh. How in the world are you supposed to start fresh with legendary items in your inventory?
How big will the world be? Most of the other worlds we've gone through were pretty well explored after a week or two. Will the player run shops in the neutral zone require us to buy plots in them? Or can anyone find a clear spot to build? If it somehow gets filled, will unused or abandoned shops be removed? Will the wall just be a flat thing of stone or something, or can creative players design one? I thought it'd be cool if the wall had sections by different players, each of varying styles. We could give it depth, and fill in the space with those invisible indestructible blocks to keep players from scaling in the 3d designs or something. Some sections would have tunnels to walk through to get to the other world, and would open up to the inner walls, where shops would be. Will there be a shop for spawn eggs or anything like that? Like we do now? Will it be hidden?
Planned 16k by 16k map. No set plans on border crossings, those were just ideas. Walls walls won't be flat, currently no specific plan. The current spawn will be the center of the new map; all spawn features are staying.
I'm having a tough time putting things together beforehand, really tempted to just reset this weekend because terrain gen hasn't changed. The end would wait for actual 1.9, obviously.
Whatever works best I guess, but question is would plugins be easier to update when 1.9 comes out or not, don't make it harder on yourself if you don't have to Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
Some of us are anxious, but give fair warning to the players, and have a general idea for the economy before the reset or exclude it leaving the people to barter until a balanced economy is conceived. Possibly create a PVP grace period till 1.9 or establishment of rival towns. Creating a world only accessible to you for now to test plugins would also allow you to be proactive while you wait for the warning to expire. Currently, people avoid the server because of their awareness of the reset.
Fair warning to players? I did that, and now nobody comes online. We are going with a free market (as we always have), not some admin backed nonsense. There's no "conceiving" to be had, players just set whatever price on items. The only thing subject to change is sources of income. ... Why?! I've been testing plugins on local servers for 4 years now. That's not the issue. Nobody is playing on the server, and it's easier to test changes with other players online. People will come back after the map is reset, so I don't see why this weekend wouldn't work. Ffs, then why did you say to give a warning if you were already aware nobody is playing -_-
