Hello! I know we can already craft things such as chiseled stone bricks, thanks to ezeiger92 , but when 1.8 is released, can we get a custom crafting recipe for sponge? It is not able to be crafted, as far as I know.
I know you get 1 wet sponge or something from the new water temple boss. But other than that I don't know of a way to obtain it. I think if we have a recipe it should be relatively expensive. Maybe you need an item that can only be found in Cyber's dungeon?
I feel like we're at a point in shadecrest where diamonds for some people are very easy to obtain (I got 41 blocks on one mining trip) so a item that can be found in Cyber's dungeon would be a fun and exciting way to obtain a rare-ish item that you would have a use for. Plus it gives people more incentive to check the dungeon out, maybe adding a new element to the game. You could have people building up teams to work their way through the puzzles and mobs to get some resources. The new people who join the game may not have been able to get their hands on any diamonds (or enough of a supply to waste them on sponge) and Cyber's dungeon is easily do-able with iron armour and swords, with multiple repair tables throughout the dungeon. It would be even easier in teams, giving people incentive to actually socialise in-game. Just think it might be nice to not use something so cliche as a diamond. And as for the item. I know there was something that could be found in the dungeon at some point called a "Nether Shard" (piece of quartz) that wouldn't combine with other pieces of normal quartz. Maybe we could have something like this that combined with: Water, leaves, vines, lily pad, whatever. This could be discussed later on. As for the actual item, maybe it's yellow die called..*can't think of anything*, and the crafting recipe could be 8 of them surrounding a bucket of water. I don't really know.
I never said you only get one per trip. I said rare-ish. Not so much that one trip will last you for months, but not so little that it's not even worth going. Sure, I'd love it to be one diamond too, I could make hundreds, but it's not really a viable solution in my opinion.
Are all the worlds going to be reset? And is Aquamarine going to be like chiseled stone brick used to be, in that the first guy to find the block's indigenous structure has a significant amount of control over that specific block's value?
oiShocKWavesv you can't stop recipes from showing up based on name of items. epic_poke8 ... Prismarine.
ezeiger92 Now I remember, it was that it wouldn't stack with normal quartz. I remember epic mentioning it a while back, but I didn't remember specifically all the details, Oops.
Not that OP. Some things should be rare. Just something that a structure is majorly made of, that's what I don't want just one guy on the server to have. "anyone have prismarine?" "yeah, I got all of it. 10k each block." "Too expensive!" "too bad."
Just remember that the guards that swim around those temples are hard to kill if you don't have the right armor and whatnot, so keep that in mind too
Prismarine blocks, and sea lanterns: (From the minecraft wiki. [link1] [link2]) If monopolies become a problem, we will make guardians rarely spawn away from monuments. We could potentially add shards and crystals to the dungeon loot as well. Main point: There is already a crafting recipe for all these blocks, and the items to make them drop from mobs. I'm not adding an auxiliary crafting recipe that has nothing to do with the new blocks. Sponge: There isn't much of a point for sponge outside of bragging rights; not often do you need to drain an ocean or lake. Most likely solution: be lazy. Take a monument, move it to the dungeon world, and add loot chests. Boom, water dungeon. Elder guardian respawns after an unknown amount of time.
