You can find the old dungeon I made back in the day up and operational now at: /warp sewers Warning: PVP is enabled and yes it's difficult. People die here a lot. People are encouraged to fight over the right to loot a particular chest which might be refilling soon. Bring at least full iron and a decent sword. Bring food and bring iron bars to repair your gear. Chests are set to respawn there loot on a long timer so players have to fight to get to / claim their loot. The ender chests have a higher chance at more / better loot. There are tons of puzzles and secrets. Currently 4 levels and level is planned out but not yet constructed. You will know when you've gotten to the farthest point in the dungeon. There is a series of signs congratulating you and a level 5 enderchest. Please if you solve the puzzles, let other people figure it out for themselves. All puzzles can be done solo, though some puzzles can definitely benefit from people working in pairs. Generally puzzles get more and more complex the further down in the dungeon you go, so make sure you LEARN how puzzles work because the logic of a puzzle is likely repeated in a future level in a more complex way. If puzzles don't make sense at first, explore more and maybe they'll make sense when you see more of the dungeon. Please also use /local or /l to communicate with others in the dungeon. Don't spam /o for in dungeon communications. The loot in the dungeon right now is maybe on the low side. I wanted to make sure it feels worth it and then sometimes you get good loot and that should be exciting. You'll get plenty of food, but if you're lucky you can even get diamonds, rarely but you can. I plan on later levels having chances of unique weapons or armor dropping. I also plan on implementing unique / named monsters with their own unique loot tables. The biggest feedback ya'll can give me is what kind of loot you'd like to see. I can also give experience, rupies, you name it. I could give anything in the game at any specific levels of probability including enchanted armor. I've made the loot at the moment kind of on the lame side, but intend on spicing it up as more players get involved and I get a feel for how players are playing in it. I want the loot to feel like it's worth fighting over but not necessarily completely economy breaking or anything. Really good loot should be rare and feel like a reward for doing a lot of dungeon delving.
Thank you for adding more things to spend time on for the players. I am glad someone is doing so much for the server. This also seems fun and I will try it out after I get home.
FYI, after another round of play testing, I cut the respawn timers on the standard and ender chests in half (aka they will refill with loot twice as fast now). Ender loot chests still take twice as standard chests to refil.
You probably have a better pc than me. Would be cool to get some nice shaders of the dungeon and advertise it on Twitter.
Don't forget NMBr2d2 has been working on this as well: http://shadecrest.com/site/threads/6145/ Likely we will be implementing PhatLoots in his dungeons as well when they are ready.
Level 4 of the ShadeCrest Sewers is complete: the Prison Further construction of the sewers is on hold while we launch a second dungeon with a much different feel to is, the Volcano's Core. It's a much more GRAND dungeon with a huge wide open cavern with lots of passages between the different layers of the Volcano. Lava everywhere, fire giants, and other fun surprises. Construction of the Volcano's Core has been complete for quite some time. I need to build out all the safe rooms, library, alchemy lab, etc. Then I have to make the loot tables and place the chests. Plans are in the works to build a dungeon hub at spawn which will take you to the various dungeons around the world.
I took a tour of the volcano core and omg I fell in love with it...its like indiana Jones with a twist...more my speed and I can't wait till it's done
Ummmm. Well right now it's up to bandwidth of the staff. Making a dungeon assuming you want PhatLoots requires loot tables to be built, placed, properly balanced to ensure players aren't getting too much loot for risk invested, etc. I still have like 4-5 (need to consult my maps) more levels to build out for the sewers. We also have a second dungeon already built, I just need to place chests and build the safe / work rooms. NMB is working on a 3rd dungeon on the test server. Not sure if there's much bandwidth to handle someone overseeing the construction of a 4th dungeon. If you want to start building it, you're welcome to, it just might be a bit before it gets rolled out. Ideally it should be built in the same world NMB's dungeon lives in. I also want to get my dungeon moved to a flat world before we start adding too many more dungeons to the mix. Variety is the spice of life, and that's definitely the case with dungeons.
Give me a few days to work out all the details. Where things are, who's got access, how to make it so you can contribute, etc. Lots of moving parts right now.
I have enjoyed the Sewers first 2 levels, but now I'm stuck. I've even gone to the extent of mapping out level 2. I can get into the blue and green rooms and the chisseled stone room but can not for the life of me find my way into two of the doors, one of which leads down. Has anyone got the slightest clue or hint to point me in the right direction? Please send me a message if you don't want to post on the forums. Doc
There's a button, that's all I'm going to give away, hopefully nobody straight tells you what to do. The most fun is figuring it out on your own.
