Cats don't care about their owners, but dogs do. http://io9.com/study-backs-up-what-owners-already-know-cats-dont-car-1474310844 On the other hand, dogs have special connections with their owners. Ex. Hachikō This dog waited at a train station for 9 years waiting for his owner to return. Quite a few movies about it.
I'm a big animal person, and we've had cats and dogs over the years. They're all awesome, but dogs are certainly more sociable and lovable animals; anyone who's owned both will tell you that. My cats generally keep to themselves (though sometimes they'll come up and cuddle). Another thing to note about cats is that they can act like complete jerks for no apparent reason. Dogs on the other hand are awesome, awesome animals that you really grow a connection with (I've always had big dogs. In my one experience with a chihuahua, he was annoying and yappy lol). Anyway, that's my opinion on cats and dogs. I love 'em both, but I'd take a nice canine companion any day. I'll get pictures whenever I find good ones of all of them. If you ask me, you've obviously never owned a dog xD I love cats, too, but to say that cats are more loving and sociable than dogs is crazy!
It seems as if all dog owners keep repeating that "Dogs love their owners more". Is that all that's good about them...?
-More fun to play with -Some are smarter -More athletic -Want to protect you (even the tiny dogs that can't do a damn thing) -Cats are EVIL This should be more than enough. Just google "dog sees owner after X" I'd like to see a cat do that.
There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. There are bad cats, even if their owners are good. Those little things are monsters...
Dogs costs: Heart worms ($600 vet fee) Horrible infections from eating shit ($600 vet fee) Bad ticks (0-$50) Not very independent at all Can not leave them alone at all ($10 of damage up until the thousands of dollars...) require training ($200 a month or $2,400 a year) They eat stuff and cause permanent damage to themselves ($200-$1,000) Require cage, leash, and toys ($50-100) Dog food costs so much more than cat food ($100 a month) You can add up the total cost.
In the end, it's up to personal preference. There is no "which is better?" Do you like a playful, loyal, and loving dog who depends on its owner, or do you prefer a more independent (yet still playful), more secluded, and loving cat? Solid differences do exist between them. You can't argue that cats are more playful and loyal than dogs, or that dogs are more independent and less aggressive than cats. Of course there are exceptions, as there are with all things in life, but this is the general truth. And as far as StephenP67 's comments on dogs' aggressiveness, pie is absolutely correct. A dogs behavior is almost entirely dependent on its owner. I have seen pitbulls and dobermann who are the nicest things in the world, and dogs of a generally friendly breed who can't be controlled. As for CanOpenerTrooper 's comment on cost, those are outrageous, lol... Vet bills are essentially the same between cats and dogs, as are toys. And you seem to think every dog owner hires a private, expensive trainer, while in actuality, "Dog Training for Dummies" will do. This thread shouldn't be an argument; it should be which animal you love and why, along with cute pictures of your pets. Why is everything an argument?
My cats sleeeps while I'm at school and comes lookingforme when i get home she sleeps at the head of my bed and sometimes tries to bathe me she is very play full with the other cats in the morning and late nights even as a two year old she will do it sshe follows me all over my homeand watches me play minecraft she is a orange cat thati named fireheart (named aafter the warrior cats series witch quite irronic considering that Fire heart is a he) but the name suites her she is as fierce as a fire but as loving as a heart now who doesn't like cats?
Love my dogs. Love my cat. Love my dogs more because they don't act super nice and friendly as a ploy to get my arm within claw reach. From the Space phone.
