nice, post FPS when u get both to a good OC (My current highest stable OC for my CPU is 4.3, and 1250mhz for GPU)

Gonna try for 4.2-4.5 My GPU is overclocked already. I'll try and post BF4 and Minecraft FPS when I get the chance. I should have everything OCed and running withing 3-4 days. My new PSU is out of stock and will be shipped once they get some more (they predict 1 day + 2 days of shipping).

So I'm kinda confused here. My question is, why? Why do you feel the need to upgrade computers that are already well above average power and can run most modern games at high/max graphics? To me it just seems like a waste of money and electricity. I'm not trying to insult your reasoning, I just legitimately don't understand the point of upgrading so frequently.

for me, I rebuild every 3 years, as soon as i am unable to run games on high-max settings. overclocking helps extand how long i can run games on max.

It's just fun for us. I also need the upgrades. I'm unable to play the games I want at a satisfactory level (apart from Minecraft).

    Define "satisfactory level"

60 FPS at high settings for games like BF4 and other graphically intensive games. For Minecraft 100 FPS maxed out.

I still find it funny that I'm running off of a laptop and still getting med/high graphics on most games.

Asus has a very very bad past with overheating...
My palit 770 hardly goes over 50 c after 3 hours of bf4.

So my brother built a computer for Christmas. Not entirely sure of the specs, but I know it has a Gigabyte motherboard, a Gigabyte customized 4gb GTX 770 GPU, a high end i7 processor (not sure which one), and 8 cooling fans (Overkill? Perhaps.) Oh, and we've already named him Steven the Stormtrooper.

The name... muy bien... How much was the CPU? I would have gotten a 780 and maybe a mid range i7.

even with the lowest i7 you still wouldn't cover the price gap between the 770 and the 780 :3

    Ps:the 990x doesnt count.

    FX 9370. $200 vs intel's $320+ prices.
