Well, as a PvE and PvP idea, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aOxxaaxxaaxxaaxxOa axxaaxxaaxxaaxxa aOxxaaxxaaxxaaxxOa axxaaxxaaxxaaxxa aOxxaaxxaaxxaaxxOa axxaaxxaaxxaaxxa aOxxaaxxaaxxaaxxOa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Where O symbolises a monster spawner, x symbolises stone and a symbolises air. Basically the aim is to stay on the stone for the longest all the while avoiding other players and monsters. Alternate versions of this include ghasts attempting to shoot fireballs at you while you are on a parkour course and a PvP bow/snowball fight from opposing ledges with gaps.
Bow Spleef- Use flame bows to shoot arrows at TNT which lights it and lets it fall and play until only one player remains. Advantage over normal spleef: over normal spleef players CAN'T make islands and just stay there. (Red Wool represents TNT) If you want to see the basics of it go to my /plotme home on creative
A new parkour/obstacle course each week? Boat races with a nice windy, fast course? Anything involving obstacles and racing sounds pretty fun. I've played this before, and while it is fun, we would have to account for players trying to steal the bows. Either make a list of all players and check them off once they've returned their bows (the manual way), or set up some wg region/scriptblock thing. i.e. Once you get out and fall below the TNT, scriptblock has you type /clear -a with an override flag. Wouldn't be too difficult, just something to consider.
Yeah might be a bit more stimulation of iConomy as well but I don't know just a suggestion (as in if you brang your own bow)
Yeah, I saw kurt's thing. A king of the ladder with a few switch ups like jumps and multiple ladders would be cool. I'm not sure how we would figure out the winner, though. Either a manual counting process, or see if we can find some quirky way to do it with scriptblocks and variables (I don't know what scriptblock's added in the newest updates.)
I'm sure there would be a better way to do it with a plugin, but an upwards-facing locked dropper with a button on the side would work. It would probably be better to use a wooden button since they have a longer delay between presses.
maybe an easy way to do it is with redstone and have a timer for 15-30 secs and you stand on a pressure plate to activate it. just a simpler way to do it imo
I think we need some things people can run and play on without needing to have admins activate - ala current events. The old casino was a hit for a while when it worked. not sure why it ended due to outdated plugin or it broke/was exploited. But afterwards ppl would log on at random and ask right away if there was a casino here. Only to say no and see them log out. I think this would be at least semi popular if done again. We have a few members putting up items from their own stashes as part of treasure hunts (Moose and Water mainly) Maybe we could have an admin hide a chest somewhere with some various items depending on difficulty. Then have it start off with like one clue on the board to its location. Every 1-2 weeks put another clue if nobody finds it. Now a personal one of mine i would love to see... How about something to explore and test yourself on. I would love to see like a Stronghold style maze with traps and various redstone secrets. I think a lot of people would have fun exploring such a place. It would also be the perfect thing to show a potential member to entice his interest in the server I'm currently building a nice parkour course with varying difficulties from nub jump to ragequit mode. I'll host competitions with it for prizes. Will stick a board on the wall with the names of the ppl who win it start to finish. (There wont be many) Also have plans for a horse racing track as well in the area but this will be a bit away unless I can entice some creative architect to make something pretty for me This post got long quick... I got a bunch more ideas but i'll wait until I get back from work next week to fill up another page
There are parkour plugins/methods where you can complete stages and get x money every x hours/days which is self sustaining, itd also be cool to see a new casino plugin! Another one was mob arena and player arena, which ive asked for many a time -.- whether it works with 1.6 I need to look up
Awesome idea for an event, credits to ezeiger92 for coming up with the mob disguise idea and letting this idea come to light. My original idea was to have a room full of zombie pigmen, all with the same name as the hider, and have an admin hide within them, wearing a zombie pigman skin. If you were to punch a pigman, they all destroy you. If you punch and kill the admin, you win the event. Hooowever, the problem was that you needed to be a block away from the mob and looking directly at the mob for the name to show up, making it easy to differentiate the player. With mob disguise though, you don't need to name the mobs, and it works perfectly with any mob. Staff member disguises as a mob, surrounds self with mobs of same type, and players try to hunt down hider. I'm not sure if we already have this, or if the latest release is compatible with disguise craft, but this plugin allows for control of the PvP aspects of disguise craft, so as to undisguise players when they are hit, and allow them to be hit in the first place.
