[PvP] Tournament

What is it?
16, 2 player teams will compete in a bracket style tournament until there is a winning team.

Rules
- No enchanted items
- No potions
- No mcMMO
- Equipment will be supplied, bring an empty inv

Equipment
- Full diamond armor
- Ironsword
- Bow and 32 arrows per player
- 4 cooked pork

Prize
- Special tag in chat that will last a month.
- 10,000r
- Each player will receive the specialized armor and sword of the players they have killed

How to apply

- IGN of you and your partner
- Team name and a Tag of your team (you will be awarded this if you win, don't make it too long and keep it appropriate)

For location I am thinking either PvP spawn, coliseum, or a flat area. For the time we need to get all of the participants to let us know when they can face their competitors.

 

Is there a way to disable skills? Stuff like Dodge are passive and not activated by the player.

 

How about an old build/town for location like Arcadia?

 

We could disable mcmmo in the spawn world and have it there

 

I don't care about location, but if I were to say something make there be some obstacles that way people can't just run away easily. Just some terrain to block jumps or water or something like that.

And as for time I think we should do it on a Sunday before/after events. That seems to be when most people are available to play judging by the number of people usually at events.

It would be epic to have recreations of old towns to fight in, with new spins. Like, "Remember that castle made of stone? It has parkour instead of stairs now."

What do you guys think about being supplied with gear, rather than bringing our own? I say this because I believe many players are being discouraged from joining the tournament due to this rule. For someone who knows they don't have a shot at winning, it's sort of like, "Hey, join the PvP tournament and give your diamond armor to someone who's better than you!" It's not like someone can join just to get free armor out of it. If they're bad at PvP, and not serious about fighting, they'll be killed and lose the armor, but more importantly fill a much needed spot in the bracket. I just think this would encourage more entries.
