Dman2416's Ban Appeal

Hello fellow players.

I have been banned recently for a stupid decision I made, and of course here I am to appeal the ban placed on me. I'll admit that I'm fully responsible for the fire placed inside a home of another players build (The home was completely hollow on the inside, so no damage whatsoever was done to this person's build, I unfortunately do not have a screenshot of what I did, but I'm sure a few players can confirm this). Although, the ladders placed on the walls was not done by me, and I do not know who did this.

By my definition of griefing (Being: the destruction of a person's build for no reason), I did not do anything that directly deserves the ban I received, being for griefing. I only destroyed exactly 4 blocks, 2 oak planks and 2 stone bricks, which I broke in order to get inside to commit the act and later to exit the building, being blocks I replaced immediately after I destroyed them. To me a permanent ban is too much. Although I'm willing to receive a temporary ban lasting a reasonable time.*

Lastly, I would like to mention the contributions I have made to the server. I have aided various builders in their builds (ask Antm1 and Awesomeguy2010 as examples), have criticised several plot builds (with a few being worthy of promotion thanks fully or partially for my suggestions(I cannot remember who these players are)), Have made a build which got me promoted to the rank of Builder II (/warp Rhundaur as reference), being a build which dozens of players have seen. Nearly all comments given have been positive, which includes at least a pair of admins, with only 3 or 4 being indifferent, and none being negative. Lastly, a build I and a pair of players (Stlnaturals and Treyman77) had been working on prior to being banned. Please note that this build is nowhere near being half complete, as it will involve multiple biomes containing cities (which will have differing architecture and city layout), and a large amount rural builds, being untouched country, villages farmsteads, forts, and military outposts. Along with the build being commented by several players, all being positive ones (i.e. InvaderZar, AnnodynS, PieMan_Is_God and a few others).

I hope this resume of sorts will counterbalance the stupid and immature decisions I have taken recently, and ultimately repeal my current ban.

*Please note that I have nothing against the admin who laid the ban on me, as he was doing his job as admin. Although I do believe his degree of punishment was unfair

Anyway, being that z_millla banned you, it's up to him for how long you should be banned. He moved it to a temp ban; however, it will be a lengthy one since you did grief a lot. :/

 

Define a lot. What I did wasn't very much, something I could of fixed within 3 minutes

Well first of all, you need to change your definition of griefing. There is little difference between breaking blocks on a build and adding new ones; grief is grief. The server rules keep our policy regarding this very simple, "Absolutely no griefiing. If you didn't build it, do not touch it". That said, your grief was not limited to 4 blocks, it was exactly 627 edits of another player's build. That is quite substantial. Also your initial reaction to being brought back to the area was laughing, so I didn't feel much need to have you stick around. What you did was a huge waste of everyone's time and not remotely amusing.

You have a decent track record, but griefing will still not be taken lightly. You will be given a three week ban.

 

Dayum, I did place plenty of nether rack and switches, along with torches initially then removing dirt in order to actually do what I did. So 700 makes sense. As for Stl, I have no idea of what he did, but I did see him dig straight down pretty far. After that I got no idea of what he did

Dman so ill just work on the castle while your gone, but I may do something else just for the heck of it. I will still be working on the castle the other thing is just when i get bored.
