Note: The beam is gone. I was told it was too tacky and I think it really didn't apply to this build. Well it's been a while since I updated because I started building a house to apply for the Siout's build. I have worked with Pieman for a couple of days now on a shopping center. It's gorgeous. Rose: I made that rose and got it right and realized it didn't 'go' any more. I loved it.. but not in that building. So I'm back to square one on the inside of the building. However Quiet loved it and is putting several on someone's mountain.. not sure where. I'll have to ask him. xD Arches: I did spent tons of time trying to get my arches right all the way around..and then to get them to fit properly and symmetrically around a building that is not even. It's 61 x62.. sigh. A360 taught me a good lesson.. Practical ( what is the build used for).. Shape.. then Detail. In that order. A360 helped me make a model of my layout after I told him my plans. We were talking about what I wanted to do with the rose now that it's out of the building. I had not done that before. Such a great idea. He suggested the water feature-- it only took one bucket per arch. So my first step was to build the arches around the outside to expand the effect of the arches. Both A360 and Killor helped me learn how to develop arches this week. After playing around I am now expanding on those arches and have added a lot to them. I'm half afraid the double row of arches is too confusing. However it has been tons of fun learning new things while playing with these. Thanks so much for your help this morning Pieman. I am starting on a second row around but have added a pretty detail and am connecting the arches. Pie helped me with that part. I have got such a wide space here because I am going to make a walkway all the way around the building. We'll see how it goes. If you have any ideas let me know.
One thing I gotta say is don't go too overboard, since this build seems very complicated already. You don't want a confusing build! D: I wish I had the thought process and patience to build like that, lol. My build area is so laggy that when I build sometimes I'm frozen and then the whole build wasnt't even being built. -_-
I've done a build that had lag but that was a city underwater. This is not that big and there's no lag for me at all. It's tiny compared to many. Now that being said I have had terrible lag at Killors new build. It was massive. And yes I'm afraid of a confusing build. I'm going to get someone's opinon tomorrow afternoon I hope. It's less confusing when you are there than in the picture. It' looks beautiful in game.
I just started adding a path or walk way .. Makes it easier to see the arches and why they are there. ( I know.. no detail.. this is just a base to work from. )
We have arches! and a plan for a small city. There are four large tulips of four colors, and arches make the walls. A fter I get the walkways and rest of the arches done.. I have four sets of low arches lining the walk from the temple to the gates to build.. then four smaller buildings in the four corners of the build. It's coming along. Thanks so much TheKillor, Siout, A360, Foster and especialy Pieman for all the assistance and ideas so far. Without your help and suggestions this would not be what it is. PS. Qandi you were right.. the arches were in the way so close to the Parthenon. Now they are moved.. and thanks Max for the higher W E limit. It would have taken forever without your help.
it looks phenomenal!! the spawn shadecrest survival had before this one was surrounded by arches, but the build looks great!
Ps. I left off some people and can't remember who they all were. Everyone seems to drop off a suggestion when they visit. Someone left me numbered instructions even for I think moving the roses in pieces before Si told me to paste with -a which upped my limit for pasting dramatically.!) Also one love hut ( approved.. so sweet) and one love shack.. (disapproved ) have been built nearby without my permissions. And one murder scene. LoL .. seems like my place is getting popular for extracurricular activities. Also, Quiet has a little camp on the pools edge with an oven for cooking fish and a bed. It's nice to have company. xD Qandi I loved your feedback about the arches that were close to the Parthenon being too close and confusing. Several people said that and as soon Max approved the 8000 limit ( I requested 2500 ) and I could cut and paste without air.. I started moving those arches out. Great idea. Pie.. thanks for teaching me to make a MODEL of the city. I will always do that from now on. This community is just incredible for helping each other out with tips and ideas. No wonder all the builds are so amazing!
I cannot tell a lie folks.. I been playing on FTB.. A360 tempted me.. and I gave in. lol (So nice blaming someone else for your distractions.) But today.. after much dreaming of what I wanted to do for side arches to the main walkways... ( I do mean literally 'dreaming' .. I was able to make some real progress. Thanks to Pie, A3 and Folster for their suggestions here too. Not sure if I want to leave those arches looking like circles on second thought. I may remove the corner stairs at the bottoms. They don't look quite so arch like now. However.. It was fun. Each walkway will color coordinate with it's rosebud. This is the red walkway. Thanks for the help Si. I guess I didn't post the photos of the supports for the main building that I FINALLY got done.. so I'll add those here too. I also did chandeliers.. wow.. my updates are way behind. I am so proud of my arches. They even got a nod of approval from my hero TheKillor . I made good use of steps here. I wasn't sure if they made too thin of a set of supports.. but I think they make the prettiest chainlink pattern.. so I kept them. Here are the chandeliers I added to complement the center double heilix that Folster added. I hung a few lamps down the middle of that too..which I thought looked nice.
