Peaceful and PvP Reset: Feedback Appreciated

I also wonder if you should keep a backup of everything in the current world, in case everything turns to crap and people still don't like the new world after so long. Also, looks like me and salmon won't be able to finish our 33 double chest a harvest sugarcane farm

 

I am personally against this. I've worked my butt of to get where I am today, and the thought that it would be all be taken away is a complete turn off. I would most likely end of leaving. I have put in hundreds of hours into the stuff I have on this server, and I don't think that the server should be reset. I am almost positive that there are others like me who have built themselves up and gained many items. I think that I can speak for them when I say that the world should not be reset.

Yes! If you want to start all over again, do it on a different server.

Also, if you DO reset, you have to give the veterans SOME advantage, or those hundreds of ours they put in will be gone forever.

 

The main thing I'm not keen on is a full McMMO reset. I'm sure Hakalu would be even less keen, and the same with Jasperli if he were to return. If a reset were to happen, and you were definite on not keeping McMMO experience, then maybe maybe reset a portion of the experience, like 80%. Even this is a lot, but still better than starting with nothing.

 

Willing to give it all up. Let's be honest. I'd never use it all.

 

I would not be willing to give up what I have. I have more valuables than 4 large chests can fill. By valuables I mean any single item worth more than 20r. Not a stack of items, but a single item.

I think heath summed up our options as players if the server reset quite well. If a player doesn't quit minecraft alltogether then they are most likely going to stay here.

The only thing I want to throw in the mix, and its something a few people have already said, and is that I really think MCMMO shouldn't be reset. I am ok with everything EXCEPT this.
I think there needs to be at least something each player can carry over as evidence of their hard work on the previous server, and mcmmo stats transfer is probably the fairest thing that could happen.
It would be fine even if we just kept a percentage (like 80% as moose suggested).

 

Well, the bit that makes me vote no reset, is the village I have made. I have legitimately transported all the villagers there, along with a few spawn eggs. To be frank, I have put about 5 weeks worth of work into that, and laid down about 30k blocks of tack to get the villagers there. My builds usually incorporate everything from bedrock to sky level, and all I have now is ground level. Now, If I was promised a village with villagers when the server restarted, and the warp I bought, I would not be opposed to this, including MCMMO, economy, etc. But considering my standing (citizen) that wont happen, because the VIPs will be catered to first. Just my $1.23

 

And you will probably never use it all. It's just having it for the sake of having it.

I agree with Sharq. This is minecraft and the whole point is to create new things using your imagination. This is multiplayer on top of that which means doing it with others. I understand time went into whats here, and thats why I support the museum world, but really like he said, what are people really going to do with all this stuff they hoarded? No one is doing anything with it besides sitting on it and being proud of themselves like it's a status symbol. Thats not what this is about. It's not about being better than everyone else. It's not about sitting on a pile of loots saying "HEY GUYS LOOK AT ME!" That is completely the opposite of what this is about. What brought us all to minecraft? The ability to sandbox our hardwork into amazing things. We have become greedy due to the success and now are growing stagnant in building, creating and playing with each other. People are bored. Really who is being massively productive when they have everything? Thats the point of the reset. Bringing what made us love this game back into the server and people need to realize that. Its not about taking what you have to spite you. It's about bringing us closer together as a group and making great things together. Frankly there is no place for that in these worlds anymore. As someone said, if you want to play by yourself running diamonds through your fingers and being proud of yourself, go play single player.

 

Nuuuuuu!!! Mcmmo is my FAVORITE plugin. I wouldn't play if it wasn't on here. It inspires me to do sooo much more than usual. Every server should have mcmmo.

I think McMMO is a good way to reward longer time players. It also gives more motivation to mine and such, as there is a way of recording and rewarding your mining.

All pie cares about is rupies, which at the moment you can't really spend on much except auctions. And I have that feeling that the first few auctions will basically be mini ones

 

yeah only way mcmmo reset would'nt crush me is if it was gone all together main problems everyone seems to have are the economy, ugly map, and some problems that could be solved in pvp in particular i think, as far as warping and other various rules

As far as economy... it is what it is, things will fluctuate wildly with players in control, personally i like this.Having admin shops dictating prices and having unlimited loot like some say, gets stale imo.
outside sources can influence it also to help stablize diamond prices. For instance max putting in money in cash4diamonds more often. has went from 30 to 45 already just from him doing it slightly more regularly

The map is indeed a problem however, it really is pretty dang ugly lol. i think maybe a middle ground scenario may be a better compromise. Where a new large world is created that has beautiful terrain that we can bring our stuff over to.

Maybe have some of our talented voxelsniper users etc to help do some terraforming on a nice seed and get a truely beautiful world for us to experience and build in. This would take a long time but are we really in any hurry? A lot of us veterans started our minecraft careers here and i would hate to see people leave because they lost everything they worked so hard to get for so many hours. When it wasn't really needed in the first place

 

HEY NOW, I could spend all my rupies on 10 towns! (if I wanted to which I don't :3)

 

New world, no new items, bring rupies and McMMO over seems like a good compromise.

 

reset everything, there are people on mctop that have been banned, yet their stat remains. If you clear mcmmo it removes the player clutter, and gives us all equal starting ground.
